He likely is more into it than just sex. But when you have sex, without the feeling first, it makes it more difficult to determine feelings. When a guy is hugging and feeling a naked woman, and fucking, he feels all kinds of things in his body, among them being, often feelings of connection, closeness, and passionate love. There problem is, during this time, he's strongly connected to his dick, and at least some of the time, his dick is doing the thinking for him. A dick is a very mercurial thing. I can feel great intensity when in action, that is not felt other times. What a guy does during sex is not a good indicator of how he feels other times. Though it is very possible, that he does feel a strong connection. You just can't rely on a hard dick always telling what is really going on.
