I think it depends a bit on the country but in my country where prostitution is legal and prostitutes are thus more or less protected by the government like everyone else, I believe most of them also enjoy it. Of course this doesn't mean they're ecstatic to have sex with random people every day. But let's be honest here: who really loves to go to work or school every single day? I'm sure there are also days where you think "oh man, why can't I just stay in bed, not meet anyone and watch a move or read a book?" Even the most passionate people probably have these days. So I'm sure prostitutes feel this way too, sometimes. What matters is whether they GENERALLY like it and I think at least in my country that is the case. However, there is also a distinction I have to make. In my country, there are two different kinds of prostitution. On the one hand, there is the legal prostitution with self-employed girls, some of which are college students, and others who are full-time prostitutes. Most of these girls are either from here or at least from a nearby western European country. On the other hand, there is a branch of illegal prostitution, of girls - mostly from Romania and Bulgaria - who are smuggled into Switzerland by human traffickers. These girls usually have a pimp and are often forced to work as prostitutes (and their pimps take away all their money). The Swiss government is trying hard to fight this branch of prostitution but it's hard to completely eradicate it.
So, the second type of prostitutes certainly don't like their job for very obvious reasons. Not only are they doing it involuntarily, they also don't get paid for it decently.
However, the large majority of prostitutes (98% or so) who work as legal prostitutes have a pretty decent, well-paid job. Most girls here charge you the equivalent of 110 US dollars for "a quicky", which 20 minutes of sex. So if we assume that a prostitute has, say, 5 customers per day on average who all only want a quicky, that makes a salary of 16,500 US dollars per month. And this are NOT escort ladies, these are just normal prostitutes. Even if we take into consideration that Switzerland is the second most expensive country on earth, this is a very good income, especially for college students. What I mean to say by this is: nobody is forced to be a prostitute because they're poor here. Most of these girls would easily find a different job as well but they like the cash and like the sex (or at least they don't
mind it). There is no real poverty in my country as it exists in America and university is almost free, so most prostitutes really do it for fun and because they want to save up some money (I've heard that many girls work as prostitutes on the sides for a few years, save up some money and later use it to go travelling or buy a house or something like that). Also, prostitutes are not forced to have sex with literally anyone. Of course you also have to have sex with people you don't find particularly attractive but if you happen to have a customer who is really ugly and smells bad and is perhaps much older than you etc. you also have the right to say "no".
Why the fuck would any woman want to have sex with random guys whose only thing in common is that they can't get laid. I'm sure it beats working at Amazon, but still...
They might when they first start out but after getting raped, beaten, humiliated, drugged, shunned, and mistreated they probably changed their minds. I read the average prostitute got into the sex trade at the age of 14 - tells you something about how informed they were when they first began their life like that.
It would depend on the woman herself but generally it's about the money.
