But that said, women's disadvantages are more typically mental and related to appearance. A woman is more likely to be raised not to be confrontational. Many women see learning self-defence as unnecessary ("oh my boyfriend/husband will protect me") or scary ("oh I could never hurt someone"). Women also tend to have less raw physical strength, so that's another factor that - without proper training - can be a severe limitation.

Appearance wise, it's more likely for a woman to grow out her hair - a perfect thing to grab - and wear impractical clothing - try kicking in a nice bodycon dress.

There are physical weaknesses more common in women, but these tend to be less like weak spots and more things that take effect over a longer time. Women's joints tend to be less durable than mens' (same thing that allows our bodies to give birth weakens our knees, for example).

Honestly, I think the biggest weakness is the mentality. Many women I've taught self-defence to are horrified at the idea of hurting someone else - even if that person is killing them. I've been able to intimidate other women into giving up against my grip and I'm not even that strong or big.

The mentality is often the weakest point. But also a point that can't be relied on. Even the most timid woman can have a very dangerous temper. 😆

I'm actually pretty small, lol! Smaller than most of my adult students. The good thing about self-defence, it doesn't matter your size. We teach techniques that can overcome a large size difference, and honestly, much of self-defence is being aware of your situation. Mindset is the biggest asset or weakness.

Yeah. I mean, breaking a dude's finger or wrist is relatively easy. There are techniques to use. Actually not the best to rely solely on a groin shot. Folks with enough anger or enough inebriation can push through a groin shot and still be quite dangerous. But break their knee and they just can't run after you like nothing's wrong - their body can't physically move as well. Likewise, fingers and wrists are a target that, once locked, can he leveraged without as much strength because they're just not as strong as, say, a bicep. More advanced techniques can level the playing field more, but honestly, fighting as dirty and as hard as you can in a scenario that is possible to survive is ultimately your best bet. At the same time, you also don't want to just lose your head. If there's enough threat that making an escape attempt would kill you, bide your time. Look for the opportunity and then do everything you can to get out. But honestly, the most common scenarios you might find yourself in is best avoided by common sense and caution. As a small woman, would I go out drinking alone in a dark neighbourhood late at night? No. I'd go with friends or drink at home or at a restaurant with a well-lit commute back home or call a cab. If I do go out at night alone, I don't wear headphones or play with my phone and I keep an eye out on my surroundings. Common sense has gotten me out of several possible assault situations.

As for whether your attacker is a woman or not - fuck it. Gender doesn't matter if someone's trying to kill you. Same rules apply. Joints, eyes, throat, ribs. Anything that can severely hinder their ability to kill/catch you, then run away as soon as you can and scream for help.

I'm very short. As for fracturing wrists or knees - it's pretty easy to break those. I fractured my wrist snowboarding down a goddamn bunny hill once. Our bodies are supremely fragile. Knees just need to be tapped at the right angle with a bit of force, and heck, making a big dude fall on his leg in a bad angle is enough to fuck him up. And yes, fingers are still easy to break if they're beefy. Twist, jam, pull, leverage it. There's only so much range a finger can have. All else fails in a defense scenario, biting is allowed. And possibly, yes. It's even possible that a shorter woman is more strong and powerful than a taller man. If you have a trained woman vs an untrained man (as in weight training), she will be stronger provided they're similar builds. Even if he were bigger she may still be stronger.

Truth be told, I don’t know if it causes the exact same sensation. We have more weak spots (boobs and groin) so it balances out in that sense. For what it’s worth, I’ve never seen a guy fall down after a kick in the balls. In contrast to that, I’ve never seen a girl stay standing after a kick in the groin. So I think it might be as painful or more so than a kick in the balls, but it might be less painful. The difference is trivial, the point is that it’s a huge weak spot. If you want to incapacitate a woman quickly and easily, a swift kick in the crotch will put pretty much any woman on the floor. That’s the information you were looking for, right?

You’re never taught to hit a woman in the groin because it’s just not necessary. The strength disparity between men and women is enough for a man to subdue a woman even when she fights dirty like hitting the balls/throat if he really wants to. I’m telling you from personal experience because the parts that hurt in a woman are held still whereas the balls move out of the way often during a kick. If you get a woman directly in the clitoris or you get a man directly in the balls, they’re going down regardless of the circumstances. And I was taught to incapacitate a woman by going for the groin, because I specifically took martial arts classes to be able to incapacitate all attackers. Most attackers are male, however, so most self defense courses are focused on how to incapacitate a male attacker. I guess it wasn’t a fair comparison I was making because the women were kicked straight on while the men probably weren’t, but the point is that a well aimed kick to the groin will take down any woman and the groin is therefore a weak spot.

The kick from behind goes both ways... I’ve been dropped from a kick between the legs from behind before so that’s possible (although I couldn’t see how a kick from behind could happen in a real fight). It’s easier to hit a man in the balls, but it’s easier to hit a woman dead on in the clitoris than it is to hit a man dead on in the balls. If you go for the clitoris in a fight, you’re likely to hit it, but it’s much better protected from stray baseballs, for instance, than a man’s balls. It won’t give you any trouble adequately disabling a female attacker, though, because a kick will likely land dead on, and a dead on kick will almost certainly bring her down.

No, I meant it’s just overkill if it’s a female attacker. It’s necessary if it’s a male attacker, usually. It does not disable a male more than a female, it might even disable a male less. The difference is too small to be worth considering, though. Also, of course hitting the groin properly is a difficult task. With a man, however, testicles can move out of the way. The clitoris is in a relatively fixed position. No matter how much padding there is around it, if you kick that area, it will get hit and cause excruciating, intolerable pain. Sure, if you somehow managed to expose it fully and kick it then it would cause a woman to feel a pain worse than being burned alive, probably, but a kick even considering all of the padding has the same effect as a kick in the balls. When I got kicked, I don’t remember exactly where it landed. I just remember blinding, nauseating pain. And it was just my friend fucking around and being an idiot, but I have certainly been kicked there in real fights before. I can confirm firsthand that it is EXTREMELY effective as a self defense tactic.

That’s simply not true. I can tell you that from anecdotal evidence. She has to stand like that if you want to fully expose the clitoris, but it’s just not necessary to do that to drop a woman. Again, it’s happened to me in fights and had the desired effect. I’ve used it on other girls in fights, sometimes inadvertently. That’s while we’re moving around and have normal stances, so it works. If your aim is dead on, the clitoris will feel some disturbance and you will get the desired effect. I’ve been brought to my knees by even flicks. Kneeing a woman’s groin area will give you the exact same reaction as kneeing a man’s groin area, that’s what I’ve been saying. If you were to grab and twist, that only works on men because you’re the only ones with fully external genitalia. We make up for it by having an extra weak spot on the chest, however. That’s the only significant anatomical difference when it comes to weak spots. The groin is a grab point on men and not on women (it will still be effective, but not quite as effective as it would be on a man), and the chest is a weak point on women but not on men.

I’ve been in too many fights to count. I’ve won some play fights by hitting the other girl in the groin and won two real fights that way. Well, one was less of a fight and more another girl trying to force herself on me. I’ve lost a lot of fights to short girls because they hit me in the groin. I’m 5’10 and muscular for a girl, so if I cover myself properly I can take on most girls and a good amount of guys. However, I’ve been completely floored by girls under 5’ who are built like twigs because they kneed or punched me in the crotch. It’s a cheap shot, but if you have good aim you have no reason to fear any woman. Once again, if you throw a knee to the groin it’s not likely to get the best possible result whether your attacker is male or female. It’s a small, constantly moving, easily defendable target in everyone. However, if you know where to knee and you land it, the woman WILL drop. Trust me. As for how long it takes to recover, it usually takes a long time for me to even think about getting up. The best way I would describe it is a full system reset. Everything shuts down and goes numb, but there’s also unimaginable pain at the same time. And your body does weird stuff, too. One time I had to shit my pants because of how much my stomach hurt from being kicked in the vagina. Passing out and crying is common, too. Yeah, they could end the fight with one well placed punch. Short people have no dignity in fights. A boob hit isn’t worse than a crotch hit, it’s just excruciatingly painful. They’re both debilitating. A pad for periods might offer protection to taps and slaps, but a kick will still go through. I’ve been KO’d by groin hits with and without pubic hair, so that won’t do anything to soften the blow.

It’s a little weird that someone compiled all of those but it shows my point pretty well.
