It depends on the rules. The way it works in our relationship; since it's currently long distance due to school commitments, she lets me do it on the condition that she's unavailable for Skype or something similar. Of course I always prefer my girlfriend, but she knows that boys are boys, and I have an incredibly understanding girlfriend.

I think girls think more about cheating than guys, like "is it cheating to think about someone else during sex?" At least for me personally, it's pretty obvious that something like that is cheating, just not the full deal, but still a betrayal. Besides, if the guy saw the online proof, he wouldn't know if she cheated in real life as well.
