We all know the importance of lubrication when it comes to anal sex, particularly when it comes to new starters, but do most woman over lubricate? We don't need to lubricate when we pass a faeces yet something with very little natural lubrication just slips out.

Yet when it comes to anal so many women seem to go overboard with the lube. I don't think tonnes of extra lube really makes it easier and in fact could make it more painful because guys penetrate when your lubed and not when your sphincter muscles are relaxed. I'd much rather use a small blob of lube and be given time to open up than a tonne of lube and penetrated when still tight because believe me that hurts.

And isn't the a big attraction of anal that it's just that bit tighter? Do guys really want frictionless sex? I think not, they want you to wiggle and writhe. It's like so many are trying to numb all sensation, your having sex not surgery.

I definitely agree, though I will say that when a woman is just starting out, using a bit extra isn't a bad thing (as you point out, though, lube isn't a substitute for warming her up and stretching her slowly at first).

In all my experience, as the women did anal more often, less and less lube was necessary, and with many, her own pussy juices were more than enough (moving from pussy to ass) for 5 minutes of anal.

SOME lube is definitely necessary, and if you're going "straight to the A" then some kind of lube is really mandatory, but if you're doing vaginal first, MOST women create enough lube to get the job done once you switch holes. There are definitely a few who don't - or don't always - and some meds can cause problems with lubrication even for a woman who normally has plenty - so store-bought lube is always a good thing to have around, but the idea that you need half-a-gallon per anal session is way over the top. Even going straight to anal, I only use a dollop of lube about the size of 3 peas, and that's plenty for 5-7 minutes - if you're going to go longer, than you can add another drop or two to keep things wet, but it's not necessary to over-do it. You can also use a silicone-based lube instead of a water-based lube, though you need to wash with soap afterwards as it doesn't just wipe off like water-based lube does.

Again, if you're an anal newbie, then, sure, use a bit extra - but don't skip the warm-up with fingers or toys, because lube is not a substitute for warmup - but as you gain experience, you can back off on the lube. Just make sure you have it handy so if you feel things getting dry, you can say or signal your partner to add a couple of drops before continuing.

Yeah, I agree completely. My wife and I have been doing anal once or twice a week for about 6 years. When we started we used a lot of lube but in recent years we've realized it's really not necessary, and in fact was too much because there was too little friction for both of our preferences.

These days I just rub a little bit of water based lube on the butt plug before I put it in her, then I'll usually fuck her vaginally while the plug is getting her ass relaxed and ready for action. When I'm ready to fuck her ass I pull the plug out and put my dick in without any lube.

The more slippery it is the easier the tightness is to single out as a sensation.

But that's besides the point. Anal is only tighter if a girl does it much less often. It just happens that that's usually the case. And when it comes to newer girls, they tend to defer to me to apply the proper amount lube. Indeed, when a girl asks for more lube i know what she's really saying is that she hasn't yet had time to adjust to the thickness and even if she knows lube won't solve that, the act of applying it will give her a minute to catch her breath. To put it another way, if a girl asks for more lube, the guy is doing something wrong.
