If it's not being touched that much and it's just staying hard... well, it's not uncomfortable exactly but a guy does feel it and is always aware of it. Yes, in some cases, it can last a long time and there's nothing wrong with that as long as it does go away eventually. He is stimulated by the cuddling and closeness, and probably relieves himself when he gets home. After you've been together longer, it will start to happen a lot less.
