The question was how bra sizes work, not how bras work

That’s what I do know about bra sizes, the clasp in the back.

The clasp has nothing to do with the size of the bra

Yeah. The bigger, the more potatoes you can take to the market.

Not really though I understand there is cup size and band size. Also I've realized that the cup sizes doesn't always have to say much about the actual breasts size.

Yey 😊 That's why it's kinda stupid when guys asks for girls cup size, unless they know how everything works it probably won't tell them the whole story. I honestly can't be bothered learning either as there's not much reason for it.

Exactly! Oh it's so important to learn about! If you've been sized in stores or by fitters there's a good chance it's the wrong size because they size people wrong on purpose in order to get them to buy a size they sell (this allows them to keep their size range narrow!)

That's kinda shitty, at times I feel women should be able to walk braless more without it being seen as inappropriate or otherwise. I do understand that sometimes it's nice with some support though and that bras can look visually appealing. How come you are so passionate over bra sizes?

Yeah, I agree! It's totally a personal choice. Because of my experiences. I thought all along that because I had small boobs, I had to be an A or at most a B cup. I'm actually an E - on a small band size, but even on bigger band sizes, E isn't as big as society makes us think!

The TL;DR of it is; the measurement size determines how large the woman is (specifically, her chest in measurements) and the cup size determines how full ("big") her breasts are. That's why fat women can be DD cups with "small" boobs; they are larger overall, so a DD cup looks small on their bodies. And petite women can look "huge" with relatively smaller cup sizes, such as Jennifer Love Hewitt only being a 30C or something, but her breasts are huge on her tiny frame. 34C is an average-sized woman with average-sized breasts. The larger the woman, the bigger her cup size will have to be in order to avoid "looking small" due to her larger mass.

@MCheetah Your comment seemed fairly acceptable until I got to the end of the 2nd paragraph. Jennifer Love Hewitt definitely isn't a 30C. A properly fitted 30C is a very small size. Also, 34C isn't the average. It's a common misconception that C = average/medium but this is not true.

I understand, most have the idea of A cup and B cup being small but I've seen some girls with those cups that were decently sized. I can't lie that if you told me you had E cup then I would probably think you had a pretty big bust.

I don't blame you because that's what society tells us! Yep, I'm an E and am very small busted

A lot of brands don't actually size correctly! I hope the brand you buy from doesn't use the +4 method to measure
