Do you take part on Valentine's Day and enjoy it?

What a great question.
I selected C but it's a little funny why. (More on that at the end.)
Neither my wife nor I like Valentine's Day. I hate the scramble that I watch people do for flowers and crappy gifts and bad chocolate. In my less than humble opinion the commercialization of Valentine's Day is WAY worse than that of Christmas (and the commercialization of Christmas is pretty extreme).
The other thing that bothers me about it is I see a lot of couples go in two directions that I think are bad:
... first, there's always a mismatch of expectations and one person (often but not always the guy) usually gets pushed of their comfort zone of what to buy/get/do. Being pushed outside our comfort zone is good, but Valentine's Day is an exceedingly narrow confined box in which to exist.
... second, it artificially focuses that sort of attention in the one day. Like, I get my wife flowers on a whim -- the impact is gigantically greater. She'll bring me a coffee at work. That sort of thing. I think Valentine's day offers a temptation to do romantic stuff on this one day when it really out to be more often.
But all of that is just my curmudgeonly opinion. If it works for couples, I'm thrilled for them -- I'm not trying to be the Grinch of Valentine's.
As I said in the beginning, it's funny why I selected 'C'. I did that because despite what I wrote above, my wife and I do Valentine's day. Flowers. Chocolates. Wine. Dinner. Etc. BUT... not because we're dying to do it. We tried not to one year, and the world about came to an end. Our oldest son was so upset about it and talked to his siblings. My daughter gave us a lecture about love and the two oldest boys called their grandmother to have her lecture us. It was a shit show. We haven't skipped since lest we disturb the force.
Thank you for MHO and for a great question!
A black wind took them away from sight
And now the darkness over day, that night
And the clouds above move closer
Looking so dissatisfied
But the heartless wind kept blowing, blowing
I used to be my own protection, but not now
'Cause my path has lost direction, somehow
A black wind took you away from sight
And now the darkness over day, that night
And the clouds above move closer
Looking so dissatisfied
And the ground below grew colder
As they put you down inside
But the heartless wind kept blowing, blowing
So now you're gone, and I was wrong
I never knew what it was like to be alone
On a Valentine's Day, on a Valentine's Day
On a Valentine's Day, on a Valentine's Day..
I actually really love valentines but I do it more like how we used to do it as kids where you just gave every one gifts in your class. You just give your friends and people you care about stuff to show you care. I'm not so much about it being a romantic holiday because it has never been romantic for me lol
Nope. It's a commercial holiday banking on feelings, and I don't need a special date to treat my partner

I usually don't because I can't. But I'm thinking of making one of my besties a cake for Valentine's day since she's had a hard year (and being hard on herself).
I don’t get swept up in the commercialization and I don’t feel the need to buy expensive gifts, but I do enjoy taking my girlfriend out for dinner and letting her know how important she is to me.
There’s different ways to celebrate other than it being romantic because Valentine’s Day is about the value of love, not just a romantic relationship type of love but also friendship and family love as well and of course self love:) I usually just take time to show gratitude to my loved ones that day , friends, and myself. I’m a single pringle so no boyfriend yet lol
I’ve always hated Valentine’s Day. It can be very awkward.
I love valentines day. Fantastic excuse to wear sexy lingerie and gorge on chocolate! 😁
I love valentines day my boyfriend always plans a big date night
I'm not in school anymore so idc much about it. Probably a time I can draw something for such a day buuut just a day of red hearts everywhere.
I like Valentine's Day and give gifts to the special women in my life - but honestly I can say I don't love anyone on here - how could I?
It's nice!
I don’t really do Valentine’s Day. I might if I had a girl but it has honestly always been bad experiences for me. Not to mention the amount of stress I feel around it.
I don't hate it but it's not important to me, I see it as just another day for companies to get money lol
I don't need one significant day in the year to show my love
I never have... and never had a girlfriend that did care for this day either, lol...
at G@G you say? lol...
that's the one and only one... @Anonymous of course 💜
I would give it to someone I'm crushin on.
We won't say who they are.
And all my gag friends would get one too.
*takes notes for Valentines cheesecake*
@NathanDavis 🤤🤤
Waste of time
I think highschool was the last time I took part in valentines day.
That is a sweet question to ask. I think you and about 5 others who are very nice to me on here I would give y’all some candy and balloons to. If I list them they would get embarrassed and I’d get in trouble so I better not. If you ask me off the record I might say. 😜
Awww thank you. You are very sweet.
You’re welcome. Have a great Sunday! 👍
You as well
I've been married for 29 years and every valentines day I buy dinner for my wife and l, buy her flowers and get her a card.
It’s been a while since I’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day with someone special. If I could send one person on here a Valentine…… hmmmm lol. I’m not going to hurt anyone’s feelings here but I could pick one for sure.
No, because I never have anybody on Valentine’s Day to celebrate it with
