Do you think all girls schools increase the instances of lesbianism? If so, is that bad?

A girlfriend of mines parents sent her to an all girls religious catholic high school because they thought it would minimize the chance of her having sex with boys, but it didn't quite turn out as they had hoped, because as the theory goes, rebellion against the parents with some of the girls there led them into lesbian affairs with each other.

Most of the girls stayed straight and celibate, of course, but my girlfriend, who always had a rebellious streak in her anyway, wasn't one of them.

1) Is this really bad?

2) How could this have been prevented if it is?

3) Would things be different if they had sent her to a typical co-ed high school?

4) Is it possible that there is just as much sexual activity going on at religious schools, between the students, as they is at conventional schools?

What are your thoughts?

A. Her parents were silly to try and keep her away from boys, all it did was cause her to teach her parents a lesson of their own by becoming lesbian

B. No, her parents are not to blame. If it's true that all girls are perdetermined to be lesbian, or not, at birth regardless, than she would have probably gone in this direction anyway, even at a co-ed school

C. Parents should never try to influence their childs sexual development as all it does is lead to confusion and/or rebellion

D. I think an all girls religious school should have on-going training teaching the girls that lesbianism is a sin, not a choice or anything that you are born with

E. Neither her, not her parents, did anything wrong. It is her life to make her own sexual orientation choices, neither her parents or the school should try to be making them for her nor pushing her to make the choice that they want her to

F. YES, there is just as much pre-marital sexual activity going on at religious institutions, including schools and churches, as there is anywhere else

  • I dated 2 girls who were from VERY religious families and were in their rebellious phase. In my experience, while kids definitely need rules and structure, if you try to hold them too tightly, they slip through your fingers like sand. The girls from the most sheltered and controlled families were the ones who were the absolute wildest on the rare occasions when they got away from those families.

I don't know that such schools explicitly "cause lesbianism", but they definitely lead to greater rebellion, and many girls who have strong sexuality will probably be more willing to explore SOMETHING sexual, even if it's with other girls, just to be able to do something that they're dying to do and are otherwise prevented from doing by "the rules." Really, I think it's just that the girls who might otherwise be passively bicurious tend to "go active" due to the rebellion.

  • I'd prefer to have more girl interested in boys so there would be others to match up with but I suppose there is gay men too I just wonder if there is equal parts or if there is a greater number of lesbians in all girl schools... And what about bisexual or those that just experiment...

    • Oh come one. Do girls in a girls school really turn gay any more than in a school for both sexes?

    • The all girls school and the all boys schools should get together for a bi sexual band camp.

    • @Daniela1982 ... lol

  • Some teenagers who are full of hormones are going to find and outlet and this might happen for some. Anytime you put humans in a place of deprivation whether it be a segregated school, prison or wars there are going to be some people who have situational sexual experiences. Some might be more prone if they have bi tendencies or are in the gray area some but humans need certain things met and will find a way. Not everyone is going to take that road. Some will just get by other ways and I don't condone teenagers have sex but it does happen.

  • male and female created he him ( God ) ! Lesbians and homos will go to hell so I guess that is bad ! Sodom was destroyed for their not using the opposite sex as God intended ! plus these lesbians could decide to date a man , give him a sexually transmitted disease and he can give it to you during sex ! is that bad , you be the judge?

  • I am lesbian by choice and i go to a coed school. I just find girls more attractive. And there nothing to even think about with all the different birth contril options. I enjoy myself and can't end up like two of my friends have since the start of high school

  • why would they mind her fooling around with girls? The boy problem is Pregnancy. They actually simply did not want her to experience pleasure just for the days of it lol that’s terrible.

i don’t thjbk it increases lesbianism maybe more experimenting - like in jail bc that all there is. its just humans craving physical interaction. They prob play sports more too.

if I was a parent I would rather my daughter was a lesbian so I don’t need to worry over accidental pregnancy.

  • Come on, no one wears those types of clothes in school, even an all girls school.

    • Quite contrar... In the San Francisco Bay Area, where I am, there are schools where they do dress like Vote G girls, yes :)

    • Well the San Francisco is already gay for the most part,

  • Sexuality is a long spectrum. I highly doubt this child would’ve been free of sexual feelings in a co Ed school. Parents try their best to assist their children but if her main focus isn’t education but upsetting mommy and daddy lol her life’s gonna be a long one full of lessons. If I were the parent you gotta act like her rebellion is cute nothing you’re trying to correct. I’ve seen it with my cousins and damn if they didn’t change tactics when they didn’t get the reaction they were looking for

  • Only among women with dormant lesbian/bisexual inclinations that wouldn't have been realized otherwise.

  • Other, girl on girl don't counts anyway and that she was just "experimenting". :)

  • Who cares if more girls become lesbian? Look at our population at the moment and how fast it's growing, if anything we would be better off with significantly more lesbians.

  • No. You're either born a lezzie or bi, or you're not.

  • Sex is basic..
Cockblocking or twatblocking anyone just leads to mess..

  • Guess there's always a chance of that if it's all girls

  • This doesn’t answer the question but I would love to fuck a girl wearing a school girl outfit 🤤😂

  • I work within the prison system.

    Google this:
"Gay for the stay, straight at the gate"

I like dick, but I can only imagine how things can change under the right circumstances.

    • I just read it. Is that true?

    • Yes it is.

  • I think all schools that only teach one gender confuse kids. It doesn’t teach them how to socially interact with each other which can lead to someone only being able to bond with one gender.

  • No, if you aren't attracted to girls, it won't matter.

  • It seems people sometimes need to hang out with the opposite gender a lot if they want to stay sexually interested in them. Just plain sad.

  • If it does increase it, I think thats bad. Just because that means girls who wouldn't be lesbian otherwise are being influenced to it, rather than actually being lesbian. Sexuality isn't something you should be pressured into.

  • Probably. The more time you spend with something the more comfortable you are with it

  • I sure hope so LoL

  • I think it offers more chances for experimentation, to find out where she is sexually, but doesn't TURN her into a lesbian. I went to an all boys Catholic boarding school not only am I NOT gay, didn't have any experiments either. But did think about it!
