  • Yeah a minority. I think half of these interviews on social media are just bullshit for clicks. Some women actually believe in their youth that being whores is empowering, so I'm sure it's real in a lot of cases.

    • Yeah, I agree. There's a lot of hype, click-bait, and more when it comes to these types of things to create an illusion that this the majority opinion on something when it is not even close to the majority. This is the power of social media and the internet in that gives the vocal minority enough power to make people believe it's more representative than it actually is

  • no, it's a sad but sensational minority. however "the normal" doesn't attract views on social media, thus what we see on there is skewed towards the extremes.

    • Yeah, I agree as well. Perhaps this can also be compared with reviews that people give on experiences they've had and products they've purchased. People seem more likely to give or talk about something negative rather than positive. People who have had a good experience with something will usually not be as inclined to leave a positive review as opposed to someone having a bad experience with something and them leaving a bad review. So, you may see a lot of bad or negative reviews on something and think this is a lot or it is the majority when it is not even close to the majority. Silent majority & vocal minority

    • yeah that's a psychological fact. we do pay more attention to negatives. cause negatives in your life demand you to act, while positives don't. like if there's sabertooth tiger, you have to run or dead. but if it's just a cat, no action is required. the thing with the vocal minority is everywhere in the political mainstream discussion. racism, sexism, transgenderism. all tiny minorities that get way too much of a voice, cause it stirrs up controversy and generates anger and clicks.

    • If one was to actually spend more time outside of the internet will all sorts of people, rather than have their entire life online, they'd find that there is quite a contrast between what is said to be the reality of life by people on the internet versus the reality outside of the internet

    • I would serioisly hope it's not 50/50 Also, what are you basing your answer on exactly? Experiences, studies, etc. Lastly, is this 50/50 in reference to women in the US? Or globally?

    • I've heard that somewhere around 50% of women cheat but only 20% will own up to it. I've just heard that on YouTube videos/online so not sure how true that is or not. Never looked into doing real research on it cause I don't care to waste my time on that
