Do you think men would think twice about raping a woman if the punishment was more severe?

Let's say a man raped or rapes you little niece. There is not contest as to who did it because of the evidence. Yet the crime now days far out weighs the punishment of a simple slap on the wrist or some wealthy families white son gets off the hook.

Regardless of court you know you are going to be found guilty. Do you think if the punishments were something like having your penis and balls cut off would be a viable detergent. Or maybe have the victims family have complete will in how you will be punished in any way possible. Torture, mutilation etc... if I was a father do you think I would let my wife decide his fate no... chain him in a dentist chair and give me a day with my power tools to try out on him. Today rape seems like its just part of life so much so that women are some what taught that it will happen.

  • There have been a handful of high profile cases where a rapist got off easier than he should have, but in the vast majority of cases rapists serve more than 10 years in prison. Some serve much more than that, depending on the severity of their crime. That is hardly a slap on the wrist.

And therein lies the problem. When someone says "rape", most people think of violent, forcible rape, but a large percentage of rape cases are not forcible. It is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman without positive consent, and in the vast majority of times when a man and woman have sex, she doesn't say "I hereby consent to having sex with you now". That opens the door for a lot of rape accusations that fall into a gray area. When a woman says she had sex with a man when she didn't want to, there are countless ways that could play out where a man's guilt is truly a matter of speculation and opinion. Punishments in those cases are less harsh, as they should be.

We also have to acknowledge the fact that many rape accusations are false. The most commonly quoted statistic suggests only 2% - 8% of rape accusations are false, but anyone who works in law enforcement will tell you the percentage is actually much higher than that. The fact is 1 in 3 sexual assault allegations in the criminal setting are unfounded.

All things considered, I think the punishment for rape is fair. Calling for harsher punishments wouldn't help deter rape more than current punishments, but it would undoubtedly harm innocent men even more than they already are.

    • So what do you do... here girl sign this form so its not rape.

    • You realize that wasn't the point, right?

  • The mental state and urge of a man raping someone is such that the mere idea of punishment probably never occurs in the culprit's mind while he proceeds. Meaning whatever punishment one may imagine, probably still well deserved, will not have any influence on such people's behaviour. I'm nevertheless convinced that the punishment should be severe.

  • I believe that more severe punishments do inhibit people from committing crimes.

But statistically speaking, it is said they do not. Which then throws the whole idea into the realm of the mentally ill. Or the stupid. They're not logical. They just do, give in to their impulses, and don't rationally think about the consequences.

Still, I would make much harsher punishments. All the weed smokers and sellers should go free and be expunged. But the thieves, con artists, rapists, etc., should watch out, cause I'm in favour of cutting off limbs.

  • I sadly don't think so, I believe that no matter the punishment a rapist is going to think he is superior and going to get away with it cause he is oh so clever...

  • I didn't know you had an account here, mister Biden...

  • Make them live forever in a haunted house would be good punishment.

  • Of course. When somebody knows their going to die of they do something, they're less likely to do it.

  • No, the punishment is already pretty severe -- imprisonment, then registering as a sex offender.

  • What's wrong dog, you can't find a White tranny to date you so you want transgender surgery to be used as a punishment?

    • Average sentence for rape is 19.7 years. Average rapist serves 61.9% of their sentence (12.2 years). The main question is why are courts releasing violent offenders early? When you have Soros funded DAs in Democrat cities, that is what you typically get in a prison system.

  • No, rapists are much more sexually active than other men.

    • Okay they cut their dicks off then.

    • While their large amount of consensual sex with women has a lot to do with them having too much sex to be "successful" or "adequate" as men, the fact that they managed to be sexually active much more than most men shows that they are very successful sexually compared to other men.

  • Skin them alive and nail them to posts

  • No that would not change anything cause people don’t think of the conséquence of their action they just act do it and then worry / think after

  • If it was actually rape (100% certainty) then total penectomy and castration would serve as a sure future prevention. It might also be effective as a deterrent.

  • I doubt it'd make a difference since rapists are usually people who are mentally unstable/unhinged and usually aren't right in the head to begin with.

  • Maybe. I think raising the cost of behavior makes people less likely to do it. But I also think that most criminals are impulsive people who aren't thinking about long-term consequences.

  • Indisputable, forcible rape should be punished by impalement.

    • 😂😂😂😂 Never.

  • Yeah, a friend was raped by the son of a judge, he got off of course

He didn't anticipate me and a set of jumper cables set on turning him into a Kentucky chicken, if he hadn't pissed himself I'd have done it but I gave him a choice threat of next time would be final and well he's been clear of anything since so it worked apparently
