Do you think monogamous family is a waste of genes?

I am a monogamous and a loyal person, but I’ve been thinking, having only one person for reproducing is a waste of your genes maybe.

For example, if I marry Asian person, my blue eyed genes I inherited from my mom will kinda go wasted or won’t be seen in my children.

I mean, you can have different types of children, with different men. No need to have sex with all of them, maybe sperm donnors would be good too.

I just think we all sticking just one person for reproduction is injustice to our ancestors, they deserve to have their genes as spread as possible.

  • The issue with this is that no man in his right mind is going to stick with a woman who has children from other men.

I just read your comments and realised that you have an Asian boyfriend. Since we’re talking about passing on genes and mating strategies, if you were to propose this to him, using a sperm donor, you’d basically be asking him to sacrifice his own mating strategy (passing on his own genes) for yours (passing on your genes).

The only reason normal men invest in the upbringing of children and the raising of a family is in order to pass on their own genes. This is why men can often react so aggressively to cheating and the threat of being cuckolded. If he’s working hard to provide for a child which isn’t his own, he’s working to pass on another man’s genes which makes no sense. That is an injustice to his ancestors.

If you want your children to reproduce they stand a better chance of doing so successfully if they have a good upbringing. All the child-free people are people whose biological Dads either weren’t around or were shitty/weak fathers. Then your bloodline gets ended anyway.

    • Thanks for explaining… What I was thinking is that he has said he likes tall girls, I like blond guys, I am short and he is Asian, but we love each other. I was thinking we could both have our own biological children with each other and plus, he could have a child from taller surrogate and I could have a child from blond sperm donor too. That would make 4 kids. But maybe I am think childish about it, cause I can definitely see where you are coming from. And thanks for explaining man’s point of view. I just worry, if I sacrifice my youth and fertility to him and what if he cheats on me in future when I am no longer young and beautiful and what if we get divorced, I’ll lose him as well as the chance of reproducing with someone else. I’ve just seen almost all the men cheating their wives.

  • I don't think so... I have 3 kids all from the same dad and they all look very different

  • If you're an American, the fewer kids you have, the better.

    • I am not American. I am European…

    • Oh, then have at it.

    • why should Americans not have kids?

  • Donate your eggs and have your boyfriend donate his sperm. Both will enter independently the gene pool… Interesting to see a woman having these thoughts, it’s mostly men who think of this…

    • Yep, agreed. I feel weird for having these thoughts but I have been having them for some time now.

  • Your understanding of genetics is insufficient. If you have blue eyes, each of your children will have one gene or blue eyes and the other gene for eye color will come from the other parent. None of your children will be blue-eyes, but they will still pass that blue-eyed gene to their offspring. If their offspring also get a blue-eye gene from the other parent, then they (your grandchildren) will have blue eyes. Your genes don't disappear.

  • Now lets see. I am Scots-Irish, German, Cherokee (!), British and French. My young son adds Filipino, the ancestry of which are Chinese, Spanish/Mexican (read history) and, way back, Desi-Indian. He has gene soup in his veins. No eugenics here.

    • That’s cool. But this way you you don’t have an offspring who looks like you, he carries your genes, but he looks like his filipino ancestors more than you and your ancestors … That’s perfect nothing wrong with it, I just think I would wish to have an offspring who would also look my family as well.

    • I remember you had your picture here years ago. You looked very handsome. I am sure your children look very cute as well.

    • The boy looks like Lou Diamond Phillips probably looked as a kid. Not surprising, Philips is also Filipino/American ancestry.

  • Nope

  • So then go have sex with multiple partners

    • I don’t want to… I am a really very loyal person. I just sometimes think I would like to have kids from all the backgrounds. No need to have sex. Having surrogate mother would be fine too, if my partner agrees. So that I would have my biological children from white men of my own race and I would have half Asian children with my boyfriend too. I think my children would be very beautiful, I have good genes, I feel sad if they get suppressed and hidden.

    • So you would want to have sperm donated and inserted into you? And I see what your saying can I ask you a personal question?

    • Not inserted into me… I want my egg and the donor’s sperm to be inserted into the surrogate who can carry my child. I would like to do the same for my boyfriend. For example he likes tall girls and I am short. We could choose a tall surrogate for his biological child. So we could have 2 of pur own biological children and 2 from other people thanks to surrogates. I don’t know if it makes sense. I love my boyfriend a lot, it’s just i don’t want to waste my recessive genes and lose them to the dominant genes of my partner. I am a red head with green and blue eyed genes, I would like to have them be shown in my offsprings. I would love all of my kids same, I just want to feel, my mom’s genes, my family’s genes are seen. Yes, ask me…
