Like most things, there are two sides of a coin.
There’s the good and there’s the bad. While MOST porn paints an inaccurate picture of sex in real life, it can be educational to a certain extent. While porn is mostly exaggerated and mostly fantasy, porn MAY have the potential to be educational for adult viewers. I believe that amateur porn has more potential as a tool for sex education as opposed to that of sex actors. Firstly, amateur porn is rarely exaggerated, and if it is, it’s not OVER-exaggerated. Professional porn on the other hand is often filmed in such a way as to turn on adult viewers. There’s now a growing genre of porn called “instructional videos” or “how-to” videos that were #10 on Pornhub’s popularity ranking in 2021. Certain sites like afterglow have been filming hybrid videos - offering videos that incorporate both porn and sex Ed.
“Erika Lust, who’s been directing and producing porn since the early 2000s, similarly showcases videos on her site XConfessions with titles like Female Ejaculation, The Art of Spanking, and Tips and Tricks for Licking Clits that double as how-tos and erotic entertainment” [1]

No way! There are too many guys try to imitate porn every time they have sex. I guess it’s good for guys like me who get to give girls the kind of woman focused pleasure they didn’t get with their previous boyfriend.

Honestly, no.
Porn is to sex what WWE is to actual fights. It's entertaining and something to make you horny, but not at all a good instructional tool for sex. The best way to learn is by doing, finding out what your partner likes and doesn't like and being open to criticism.
There are also some actual good instructional books and materials out there like "Nina Hartley's Guide to Total Sex" and "She Comes First" by Ian Kerner, and there's a website called Beducated (dot) com that has a ton of good instructional videos if you don't want to read a book.
And last but not least, there are some clandestine schools called "Sex Dojos" that will take you in and teach you everything you need to know about giving and receiving pleasure. This is not an option for the shy, prudish, or faint of heart. Yes, I attended one of these and I'm thankful I did.
1 1 0 0It’s actually fake as shit. So absolutely not. Dudes screw up all the time because they think they should copy the porn stars. Women feel bad about the faces they make and their body’s and how their breasts look and pussy and ass look because the porn stars have plastic surgery and bleached assholes. Everything is shot to be a turn on for the viewer and aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. So the positions are for that purpose. The noises, the faces, the bodies. The positions are insane because they are in camera and done in a few takes. They practice dangerous looking scenes a lot before doing them. So you get a dumb young guy or girl who thinks that they should really choke some girl with no warning. Or bend a girl in half and lick her ass while it’s in her own face. Or shove a fist up her butt. Just no!!!

What Girls & Guys Said
18 43Depends on what kind you watch. If you watch realistic porn, it’s helpful. The acted out stuff is not a good learning tool at all. I actually don’t even watch the fake stuff
0 0 0 0No, porn isn't real,
google, youtube, library or parents are best resources for learning about sex.0 1 0 2I agree with you, porn isn't a true representation of sex at all, it's more for entertainment
Not really, I tried looking at porn from that perspective and it really sucked. Most of it is so obviously made for the male gaze and some just downright treat women as sex toys. Amateur and not-straight porn is slightly better but still not by much.
0 0 0 0It's not the greatest learning tool for sure, but sometimes it can give you some ideas that would be helpful.
0 1 0 0No and if anything it can set unrealistic expectations.
0 0 0 0Only if it is the type of porn the represents a realistic sexual encounter between two people who like each other. Most porn is not realistic.
0 0 0 0Porn is not a good way to learn about sex. Sure it can be entertaining and is something to masturbate to but as a learning tool... no
0 0 0 0No. If anything it's the opposite.
0 1 0 2It's not anything like reality and damaging to the mind.
Definitely
It warps it. It's perverts it all.
No, it's designed to destroy everything you think it will help...
0 0 0 0Nope
0 0 0 1Fake and unrealistic. Nothing normal in it. Plus damaging.
Yeah
It's nothing but lust.
No because some acts shown in porn not possible in real life
0 0 0 0Not for women considering what most porn teaches us is that sex is over after the guy cums (and other things that are wrong with porn)
0 1 0 0Only for blowjobs and even then only sort of.
0 0 0 0noooo its all fake
0 0 0 1Like the female orgasm 🤣
@TonightYouu guys are literally done in 20 seconds LMAO hush
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wanna see you try to hold back a million people
It can be if you look at it the right way. For the most part, while erotic, it’s pretty degrading to women. It also creates false expectations. If you can walk away with a few good ideas, that’s all for the better.
0 0 0 0Yes I do
0 1 0 0What's your reasoning behind that
No, it's unrealistic. I think learning should be done with your partner. I mean you can bring some skills to the bed but some of those positions are done for camera angles.
0 0 0 0Not at all. A partner will always be the best way to get experience.
0 0 0 0Please be kidding
0 0 0 0I wish I was I had a guy tell me once to just watch porn rather then us try to work together on what makes us both feel good 😬 I can see how some things you can learn but real life experience with the person no way I would say. I just let that person go as we weren’t compatible sexually and he wasn’t willing to work with me on what he even wanted or what I wanted. Watching porn was his answer for that.
Red flags
Absolutely lol
