Do you think public sex should be illegal?

Assuming you are in a relationship? I know the rules are slightly different everywhere.

First, it generally is - although it is circumstantially different from place to place. For example, as late as the 1970s in NYC - as related in a history of that decade by Rick Perlstein called "Reaganland" - a bar on 5th Ave, no less, had a plate glass window curtained off. Behind it a man and a woman, both naked, could be watched having sex. This before the clean-up of NYC that began in the 80s and 90s.

So it is not unknown.

That said, split the difference. Truth in advertising, my girlfriend and I have had sex in public a few times. A few times on a beach in the Caribbean while on vacation. A few times in a park near our home. A few times we were actually seen, though - luckily for us - apparently we were not reported. (One time I looked up to see a guy give us the thumbs up.) We also have had sex in our secluded backyard.

Truth in advertising, it would not be good to have people just having sex in public anywhere. However, the human instinct is to have sex and being in nature sometimes drives that instinct and that is healthy and natural.

So it should be the kind of thing where, if you are caught, the authorities can intervene and stop you. However, no fines or other penalties should attach. It should be just an informal system where authorities can intervene. Also, perhaps, there should be some limited areas - parts of a park or beach for example - where it is permitted and therefore people who did not want to see that kind of thing could avoid it.

My guess is that, for most people, sex is simply too private and personal and they would not even frequent such places - either to watch or to have sex. However, this would accommodate the natural human instinct to mate in the environment where we evolved. This leading to a very primal and elemental kind of sex.

Also, there should be no prohibitions in places like a homeowner's backyard. In the cade of my s/o and I, our backyard is quite secluded by trees and only one neighbor could see us - even then only if they were trying VERY hard to look. In the case of the home, the homeowner owns all of it for his/her use and the only obligation they have within its boundaries is to show regard for their neighbors as appropriate.

Beyond that, my s/o and I have found sex in nature - and by default in public - to be an enjoyable and healthy and natural thing. We don't mind being seen as it is natural and healthy and we don't believe that there is anything to be embarrassed about.

Pretty sure it is in most places.  I suppose anywhere that children may see what's going on it should be. Adults ought to be mature enough to just ignore it

I put no but it depends how public outside private property at night in a place no kids will pass is fine. Doing it in the parking lot of a McDonald’s after school yes grab em and lock em up

Yes, I think so. I consider myself to be pretty open minded but I don't to see two people going at it in public. If a couple has a thing for it, then find a place where no one can see them.
