Do you think society should be less uptight about nudity?

I can kinda understand why the subject of nudity can be somewhat "controversial" (if I'm using the term correctly), but, for the longest time, I've personally felt that certain parts of the world like the US are a bit too quick to demonize nudity, be it in various forms of media and/or art (movies, shows, manga, etc.) or real life. Nudity (or even just partial nudity like being in underwear) is not inherently a sexual/provocative thing, and I've come across tons of individuals who have a problem distinguishing sexualization & lewdness via nudity from casual nudity; it's grown to be quite frustrating.

  • I agree. America is really uptight about nudity. Like i support toplessness. I habe posted the question many times. Almost all women say they won’t do it and say its men who are the one sexualizing boobs. But men like seeing boobs. So we would not have a problem if girls walked around topless. Its a regular thing in lots of countries. Like spain. It would probably take a full generation to get nudity to be more open. It would have to start with parents teaching their kids its ok and not talking about the sex aspect at all. Explaining its not sexual to see someone naked. Its not sexual when dad gets out of the shower and forgot to graba. Towel so he has to get one naked. By making nudity and sex as one topic they make the issue worse. Like at the drag shows apparently. Being naked then doing simulated sex acts. Thats the wrong message.

  • US culture is sexually repressed. Sex is everywhere, they are sex-obsessed, but it's not on the surface, it's all pushed down below their religious foundations. They think about all the sex other people are having, how everyone is trying to have sex with each other, and worrying about sexual deviants trying to have sex with their children, pets, and dead. I mean, maybe it's not that extreme, but close.

This is why nudity is demonized, they just imagine there will be a bunch of men with erections chasing everyone around.

Do you think society should be less uptight about nudity?

But I agree it's silly, we are all humans and naked under our clothes. Everyone has seen themselves naked, and it's just bodies, natural human bodies. It doesn't have to be sexual, unless you are a sexually repressed person who has never seen a naked body before.

  • Yeah we should be less uptight about it. There are situations where nudity should be accepted more, it’s natural

  • It certainly makes sense that things should lighten up , take the example of a tiny bikini , this is far more enticing than just complete nude..

Everyone was born nude , lighten up , its all bullshit society " standards " .

  • It's perfectly legal here fir women to go topless snd I've very rarely ever seen women that take advantage of that even thou they complain about guys being able to go shirtless in the hot weather.

  • Yes from a censoring point.
No from a harmful germ point.
No from an "I don't wanna see that it looks gross" point

  • We should have the option to be nude or to wear clothes in public without getting in trouble with the law.

And I've been nude in and out of the house. 💕😊

And I've driven my car while nude. 💕
