It’s a double edged sword. I work in the engineering field, and I review the engineering code of ethics as written by the NSPE regularly when doing research on innovative technology. While I’m not afraid to innovate something that eliminates human use case resulting in the diminishing of a certain job sector, I will oppose anything with an intended consequences. It’s complex, but it really comes down to the trade-off. If you engineer a product that hurts society more than it benefits, but do so because you want self-gain, then you’re in violation of that code of ethics. It’s highly subjective and that’s where things become tricky.
Do you realize what "technology" is? Technology is basically everything have made in society. Everything from the clothes you wear to most likely the food you eat is "technology". Its not "natural" and is the result of our advances in "technology".
Also I realize you are talking about things like computers and the internet but as far as I am concerned we are the safest we have ever been and living with more conveniences than ever in our history. I can find out basically anything I want by tapping a few keys on my keyboard or order things from across the world. can't really complain.
This is a complex question. Technology opens a whole world up, but at the same time, there are issues on it. How else would one experience anything like this? What about the shady stuff on sites like this? I am leaning towards it is amazing, purely for the opportunities it brings to the table.
I think technology could be a good thing, but like with everything, people fuck it up and turn what could be a good thing into a bad thing...
It's not so much that technology itself is bad, it's the people that overuse it, abuse it, use it to abuse others that is bad

I don't think that technology or advancement is inherently good or bad, but it is often frivolous especially in a modern sense. Most advancements now are less about making life better, and more about making things easier, or more accurately seem easier.
I think technology is definitely power, its all about how someone handles it. It had done amazing things and has spread more knowledge, but it also spreads hate. You just have to be aware of what you're exposing yourself to
There is no make it black or white. But, even if you think it bad, there is nothing to do about it - even if one society adopts a technophobic stance, that doesn't mean that others will and those that continue to develop technology will always come out on top, thus destroying the ludites. In the end, it's a pragmatic question of efficiency and power, and not of good or bad.
Technology is good, if it's ever considered bad then it's our fault as human beings. I'm not going to blame technology itself because some of us can't do things healthy and in moderation.

Technology allow for better ways of control, surveillance and propaganda. It allows for crazy good marketing and advertisement, leading to emergence of monopolies.
Most people are not ready to withstand such advanced influence, so they blindly follow trends and political agendas of others. We are probably heading even further down the rabbit hole and there is no brakes on this train, for good or evil.
