Do you think there would be a reduction in sexual crimes if nudity was common?

While I don't see how practical going out naked would be you actually managed to touch the main cause of sex crimes. Repression.
Basically if nudity was turned from something shameful and scandalous to something normal and accepted the appeal of sexual crimes will fade away as it will no longer be an achievement to access someone's body considering bodies are not hidden like the holy grail.
But normalized nudity would really mess up the life a lot of people and companies who make their fortunes appealing to repressed audiences. The porn industry, playboy magazine, cardi B and all the other Nikki minaj copycats who replace musical tallent with exposing their asses in revealing positions, and many more. So mainstream media will never go for it
I think it would be positive in so many ways, once it became "normal" and nobody gave it a second thought. It's hard to say when it comes to crimes though because the people that commit them are often mentally not ok, and they say, that it's often about power and control, not the nudity or seeing her body.
Unfortunately, I don’t think so. We’d be empowered, for sure, and eventually our nudity would be less sexualized, but I doubt the sex crimes would decrease, but I don’t know if they’d increase necessarily either.
I do know that I live a clothing-optional life in my house and we’re more at peace with things overall.
No. I don’t think there would be a reduction in sex crimes. But I think body shaming would go down and people wouldn’t be so uptight.

Jokes I'd never go without consent but it's a fun thought
I highly doubt it. If anything, it may be fueled by that. People, in general, wearing clothes is still heavily targeted by sex crimes.
Instinct is instinct really. Clothes or not.
No because sexual crimes have nothing to do with what one is wearing or not wearing
If our society suddenly adopted public nudity as a norm, or if we had been like that for 200 years?
Guys rape 71 year old pensioners, so at one level it’s not the. ‘She was dressed like a slut’ that is the reason for a rape, it’s used as an excuse.
the rate would go through the roof.
However rape is not really the issue.
body shaming, mental health would likely result in a huge jump in mental health issues and even suicides.
so while, yes rapes of both girls and guys (by guys) would have a huge jump, so would mental health and suicides by both genders.
No, I actually feel like that would cause MORE sexual crimes.
why?
@rebeliouse Well think of it this way... if everyone started leaving their doors unlocked, would that cause less burglaries?
@flower7 its diff thing if people we de sensitized to nakedness it prob wouldn't affect guys as much its like when guy first get to have sex he is mad for it but guys loose drive for it later on as they find there are other things in life
To the contrary, that might increase the crimes.
why?
We should not be ashamed of our bodies!
Sex and nudity are really two different things. It would be an interesting experiment but don’t think I’d be first in line to try it.
I think if sex wasn't such a taboo and secret thing then things could have been different.
But availability of porn has been shown to reduce sexual crimes. The man who has just gotten off to some video isn’t keen to go out and find a real victim.
It will touch the sky for many many years before human mind takes it normal.
The experts say that sex crimes a crime of anger not a crime of being horny so I doubt this would help anything. Prostitution legalized where it's not may help though!
No, because sexual crimes are about power and domination and control, not about sexual repression or being horny.
Maybe but there would be a lot more traffic accidents.
Do you think hunting rates would go down if deer stood in people's yards more often?
Predators gonna do they do, and it ain't on women to satisfy strangers' urges.
Well, how many rapes occur in a nudist colony?
Just out of curosity, I did a search: "what is the rape ratio in nudist colonies?" and the only incident I could find was some scammer buddied up to people at a nudist camp and eventually got caught fondling an 11 year old girl. After that and several other scams, the police caught and, as far as I can tell, the asshole's in jail for the rest of his life, at least partly because she was only 11 years old.
No, but I do like your thought idea on this.
Rape has much more to do with power and control then sex. And I hate the dialog of "would women be safer" why gender it at all? Whats wrong with "would people be safer?"
