It wouldn't bother me, but it might take away from the heat of the moment. There isn't much "heat of the moment" in my currently relationship, but we just clean up afterwards, and lay a towel down over the wet spot if there happens to be a large one. I've done it before with past partners, but honestly I find it useless. How often do we even stay on the towel? Not often.
I'd be put off by it. The only time I'd consider that normal would be if I'd told the guy it was that time of month. Any other time forget it - that towel is just weird.

I just use whatever's there to clean up, you're prepared I don't see why anyone would be upset about that.
At first, the towel usually stays in the closet. The first few times people have sex, men are proud of the giant semen stain they just left. I've known some who take pictures of the stain for the record, and to see what type of animal shape it resembles.
After a few months, it just gets messy to keep washing the sheets. And the towel comes out.
