Does abstinence boost your sex drive?

I mean, no masturbation no sex allowed. Say, for three weeks.

Can look but can't touch, neither yourself nor anyone else.

I understand that in males testes will produce more sperm faster than we can expel it and therefore increase our drive (and future load size).

But it's unclear to me how it works in females.

  • Uh... Depends I guess. I have a bit of a biased answer. Started taking medication at the start of the year that absolutely killed my libido. Went from masturbating several times a day to no desire for months at a time.

After my longest spell I did manage to achieve an orgasm. Felt so good I cried, although a large part of that came from "FINALLY", a sigh of relief. But now meh feels no different, no matter how many weeks I go between sessions.

TL;dr guess it depends on the individual. Bear in mind though our libido is very much affected by our menstruation cycle

  • I don't know. I've never gone that long without masturbating.

    • Try it out! For science. It's popular in the male community because of porn addiction blocking men from bothering to speak to women in real life, or make an effort to date. Many guyd found semen retention to also cause physiological changes due to retention of nutrition found within the semen. Apparantly, every ejaculate contains 5g of protein, lots of essential amino acids anf lots of zinc. It's also loaded with free testosterone. When old semen is reabsorbed from no ejaculation, those nutrients enter the man's bloodstream and eventually benefit muscle growth and brain functioning.

    • I think our testes get first dibs on all nutrion we eat from food, as the first thing I always feel after a good meal -- especially if very hungry -- are my testes making new sperm filling up my sack. In that way, cutting off orgasm for men provides a stockpiled supply of built of nutrition. Limewise, if I calorie starve myself when I get most hungry and accept that I won't or can't eat for at least one day my body gets very horny. I suspect men are biologically designed to seek sex when it believes it is starving to death as a last ditch effort to pass on genes. No joke.

    • Hmmmm... that's really interesting. I'm going to take some time to process that last thought. Will return soon.

  • Depends on the time before the abstinence. If you had orgasm at least on daily base you will be very hot in this 3 weeks. But if you have just one orgasm per week or even less then the difference won't be great.

  • Sure it does.
You dont drain your energy, its as good as preserve and gain.

  • was this question for women?

    • I open it up because I know they would not ve quick to respond, if at all. Would be boring if I limited it that way.

    • well sexual build up will definitely make you more horny, so yes for both sexes.

    • But how do you stay clean so long time without masturbation? Chastity belt?
