My girlfriend and I have been together for four months and we regularly have sex in missionary or girl on top. I suggested we try doggystyle and she was hesistant saying she was self conscious about seeing her bent over with all her business practically in my face. You can reassure her that you'll focus on her upper body, if she'd nervous. Or, fully clothed, just get into a similar position and give her some soft backrubs around where your field of vison is. That way she knows what you're seeing and maybe she'll feel more comfortable?

It sounds like she's just self-conscious. Encourage, be gentle, and slowly work up her confidence.

No. I think doggy style is the opposite. It's dominant but not very personal because it's not done face-to-face. I think missionary is much more intimate because it is done pressed against each other with lots of eye contact and kissing.
