I don't think it tightens the vagina. What it does do is change the angle so that he is more likely to hit the "gspot"(which is in reality just the internal portion of the clitoris (it goes about three inches into the vaginal canal and can be stimulated in the anterior side of it (the side that faces the front of the body). It also changes the angle in a way that the bottom of the vagina is pressing down on the top of his penis while he is able to very easily hit the front of the vagina giving the illusion of it being tighter.

Laying on your back and crossing your ankles applies pressure on the vaginal walls and does make it "tighter" though.

Not the tightness, but the sensation you feel from getting tailed. Try different positions to see what you like more. I would help out if I could, but it is more of an in person experience more than anything... there are certain positions in which your legs are positioned a certain way and you feel tighter to yourself, but arching your back is not one of those things.
