Do you mean rape or the "idea" of rape? Rape is someone in real life experiencing it and being traumatized. The idea of rape is like rape fantasizes. The difference is it's really happening with rape and its being acted out with rape fantasies or staged reluctance porn.
Being turned on by the "idea" of rape is more common because of feelings of dominance or submission, like there's people who like pain or giving pain during sex. Those same people who like pain during foreplay & sex or being Doms in BDSM could easily not like doing that outside of the bedroom with a partner thats comfortable with it.
Like there's doms and subs , variations of them are turned on by the "idea" of rape so they have rape fantasies. Not real life rape as in holding an unwilling person down or a guy they dont want to have sex with forcing them to. The thought that their partner has that much dominance over them or vice versa is arrousing. This is why there's people with rape fantasies.
Now on the other hand, being turned on by "real" rape is wrong. Its a topic that makes regular people uneasy. If you could see that and see nothing wrong with it or even like it there's a chance you have some mental issues. If you choose to act on this it is not normal. You know right from wrong, even if you can't choose what turns you on, what you find attractive, or what your brain automatically thinks, you have a choice. You consiously chose to act on it when you know the effects it has and how immoral it is.
Thats why in my Criminal Justice and Pyschology courses having "thoughts" of rape is considered normal, its if you choose to act on it that makes it not normal. The same thing with pedophilia and incest as well.
Some people have rape fantasies but that has nothing to do with actual rape. In those fantasies the "rape" happens in very specific circumstances. For example a woman might have a fantasy where a really good looking guy just pins her down without asking and takes her. She might even want to fight it, but at the same time enjoy the fact that she feels small and helpless. But that doesn't mean that she would actually want to get raped.
