Ever had room mates of the opposite sex?

Have you ever lived on rent and had room mates of the opposite sex no matter how many or for how long?

How was the comfort level and how did you cope up with them?

Have you got into any problems or arguments?

If its personal feel free to tell it to me in message.

  • Yes, I have had quite a few over my lifetime. Comfort level for me was normal as usual. Mainly since it has always been just my sister and I. With her only being less than 2 years younger than me and the fact that we are so similar to each that we often joke that we are just male and female version of the same person. I'm just used to being around women and really only have not lived with a woman around when I was on a ship in the Navy (so sucked.) Diana, my wife and the love of my life have been married for over 28 years now and going strong with no end in sight.
Have I ever had any problems or arguments? Of course, all of us had to deal with those issues and you learn ways to resolve, compromise and just listen to understand before replying. Respecting each other's boundaries makes it that much easier... but, you have to first find out what those boundaries are. The biggest benefit is that she will often let you know which girls like, have a crush or are interested in you. I of course do the same for them. I would try and avoid getting into an intimate relationship, since a major falling out will really screw up your living situation.

    • Thanks.. text if u want to ask anything

  • Hey, I live in a house and there have been 2 girls that lived here so far while I've been here. One moved out and then the second one ame and is with us now. I haven't had any problems or complaints but I'm not really an average guy I spend most of my time in my room and like being alone. I do spend some time with them and it's been all good so far.

I don't know how it was for them the first girl wanted to have her own appartment so she moved out and the second girl is pretty happy so far I think.

  • Just once, I let an ex co-worker stay with me because he got evicted from two places... Was only charging him $200, so he could get on his feet, save up to get his own place... But he didn't last 3 months because he lost I can't even count how many jobs in the short time he was here, and thought he could just sit up in my house doing nothing but drinking and being on his computer all day while I was working 10/12 hour shifts with a serious shoulder injury... So, he had to go... Helping someone who uses that help to help themselves isn't the same as someone thinking they can live off of you and take advantage of your kindness...

    • Rude... mamy

    • @cush_ebo excuse me?

    • I find it rude. But it's the system not your fault. 3 months. ... I spend more than 10 months without finding a job because my degrees were too high for my city. I shall have move to Paris but problem... I don't have apartment to start in Paris... that's it. So I move back to my home in Africa. Not bad... but it's the system. But some friend find a way through living into someone else home in Paris while jobing... now he lives in Geneva while jobbing for Paris firm.

  • No but i would probably like and if i don't well i like staying to myself mostly anyway so won't be hard to just keep reserved. i do like bunking at other's houses so it would kinda be the same. I one time stayed at my friends for 6 weeks all over summer. It's cooler living with more people longs if there chill.
Then i use to stay at a friend's house every other day she was nice. always letting me sleep over. basically became my 2nd home. Nothing awkward about it.

    • I had a weird experience once.. can say here though

    • yeah i can bet there is some weird stories. There is a lot of weirdos so living with someone can be a hit or miss.

  • Yes , I actually never thought of her in sex related fashion simply because my friend was her boyfriend. And I pride myself on loyalty. I did my portion and she never thought negative of me.

    • Thats good

  • Yes, I have house mates of the opposite sex. It doesn't bother me

    • Like how was it... u can tell privately if u want

  • I have never been in this situation. So I can't give any opinion but thanks for the invite. I would probably find myself in a relationship with the girl. Most times a girl meets me and realizes I have morals they end up wanting to date.

  • Yeah absolutely loads of time, from moving into shared accommodation when I first went to university (a converted OAP home turned into student accommodation) where I had 28 housemates -14 guys and 14 girls-and then into private rented property where it was always a mixture of girls and guys up until my last property where it was just myself and a lass sharing our accommodation.

  • Yes. Years ago. Two women. Both friends. One was too much of a pain in the ass to live with so me and the other moved out. The irony, the pain in the ass is the better friend still to this day.

  • Briefly. I guess walking around in my shorts was too much for her. We started having sex after a few days

  • Nope... had a chnace to go in a live in relationship... too much for me... so roommates and that to female would be weird for me

    • Owkay... i hve lived so asked.. thanks

  • not yet

  • No...

  • Never. I tried twice but never got it.

  • Don't sleep with sissy's you look fine girl keep it up.

  • Well If I had.. then I'd be a dad by now lol

  • Yup that steal your boxers coz they like how it feels to sleep in at night.. Imma get her back for that

  • Yes and it was the worst. Girls are disgusting and messy as hell. I was in the basement and had my own bathroom and I kept it clean, 2 more full bathrooms on the other 2 levels of the house and female hair products, makeup, hair dryers etc. All over the sinks, bathrooms were like a bomb exploded in them. They would let out huge farts and then laugh about it, it was like I was living with guys. Constantly tried to prank me, it was really annoying.

  • roommates of the opposite sex

    THIS isn't THE NINETIES!

  • Yes. Some were the girlfriends of my other roommates, and one was my girlfriend prior to us getting married

  • Yes for about six months. There were no problems.

    • Okay...

  • Never had roommates

  • She was from hell.
She stole food and wouldn’t offer to buy any food.
She would go off, get drunk, and get dropped off at our door when they were done with her.
She would leave dirty dishes in the sink and never wash them.
Her bathroom smelled awful and there were tampons in the trash she never dumped.
When we told her to leave, she told us to fuck something.
