You will find ...for adults especially, the most crippling aspect of beginning your para-psychological journey is the 'un-learning' of early promulgated half-truths.

These have been employed to 'cripple' your thinking and curiosity.
If you 'trim' a bird's wing's flight feathers when they are a fledgling and then 'school' them that they cannot fly. Any of their early firsthand experimentation only validates the promulgated propaganda.

"First cuts are the deepest" That's 'why' for especially young children... they learn intuitively by both observation and experiential sensory input.
They ask themselves naturally, "what did I learn from that?" But if they're stifled and molded through guilt-shaming each of their senses and their intuition... they suppose "He/She MUST know MORE than me, they have survived to adulthood”. They have assumed 'authority prestige'.

Foremost, let your local public library be your best resource.
Not that they will HAVE these books, but that by virtue of inter-library loan
with the Library of Congress (which is FREE to you) any text with more than 1,000 copies is REQUIRED by law, to have AT LEAST ONE copy in the Congressional Library!
Read them at your leisure and if you find them of worth,
you can add them to your personal collection.

Take copious notes in a looseleaf binder, this will be the beginning of a kind of diary of your journey Witches call their 'Book of Shadows'. Its both your magickal diary and a kind of recipe book.
