  • I think it's true probably in combination of nurture and nature. If a man grows old and he gets some grey streaks in his hair and a few wrinkles around his eyes, for example, it's not necessarily a huge minus if he can combine that with maturity, wit, charm: personality characteristics a man can practice and develop throughout his entire life. There might be some women completely turned off by those aging qualities of some George Clooney or 50-year old Keanu Reeves type, but I'd doubt the two have a hard time getting dates.

Meanwhile as a woman gets wrinkly and grey, it doesn't necessarily work so well to her advantage. It can actually become a much bigger obstacle in my opinion, and maybe it's because we associate "youthfulness" more to the idea of "feminine beauty". But I also think there might be biological reasons underpinning it since, say, a man in his 50s like a Keanu Reeves can still impregnate women who are still fertile. Women who have gone beyond menopause cannot have biological children no matter what.

    • Kind of a cruel joke but I once encountered a joke that went like this... "Men age like George Clooney. Women age like, well, George Clooney."

    • While that might seem unfair, I think women in their sexual prime can have a selection among potential male suitors of a kind that even very popular guys can only dream of. But in exchange aging is potentially a lot more cruel to women, especially near or after menopause. Men who age reasonably well, on the other hand (not letting themselves go and get protruding guts and so forth but stay stylish and charming), might actually find it easier and easier to get dates the more they get older up until a certain point -- maybe 60s or onwards.

    • But most of all I think it relates to fertility. Male fertility begins to decline at around 40 in terms of sperm quality but there are men in their 90s who have managed to father children. Female infertility starts to decline at 30s, very rapidly after 35, and becomes almost impossible after 40s, and it's extremely miraculous and unlikely for a woman to conceive a child at 50, e. g. (though it has happened here and there, but compare that to guys in their 90s conceiving children). That aging difference is not equal between the sexes when it comes to fertility whatsoever, and I think fertility and virility still plays a very predominant role in sexual attraction.

  • Naw I think unhealthy people look worst as they age, poor people look worst as they age, and peele with some bad genetics look worst as they age. Lol it's a lot of rich ass old ladies out there that look fine, look at jlo and Halle berry

    • of course there are exceptions, but generally speaking?

  • Women look less fertile while men look more fertile. Men are meant to protect, when they age, they tend to get bigger and stronger. Women are meant to birth and nurture, so when they look older they look less good at that “job”x

  • I've aged better than my husband because I've looked after my skin.
It all depends on your lifestyle choices.

  • I think for men as we age, it depends to a very large extent how confident we appears to be and how wealthy/powerful. At a certain point (40s?) his status becomes much more important than his looks.

  • Depends on the man a d the woman. Some men get bald when they get old and get a big gut. I wouldn't call this ageing gracefully.

  • No, goes either way with both genders.

  • I wonder if the probable years of makeup use and creams etc cause womens skin to dry and age worse.. who knows.

  • ya lol.. she was much cuter when she was younger...😛
we know the saying... men age like wine while women age like bread lol...

  • No it depends on genes, food and life style

  • I mean your example looks like she was a little princess in 99 and high on crack cocaine in 2003.

The differences are kind of extreme.

But if you have an attractive man and an attractive woman who both take care of themselves I'd say the guy turns hotter while the girl will gradually fall out of it while trying to stop it. So yea.

  • It’s so unfair

  • In a few cases fine old women looking good

    • Few, ya. Exceptions to the rule.

    • They say I clean up nice but I don't be bragging about it

    • They say I dirty up shit nicely but I brag about it.

  • Britney got old quick! Working for Disney will do that to ya.

  • Depends on your life style

  • in sex they both get better with experience.

    • True, I heard those old people in retirement homes (80 - 100 years old) have some wild sex!

    • I remember you! You are into granny porn. I approve. :)

  • In few cases age of 30's women look good...

    • Few, ya. Exceptions to the rule.

    • Yes I agree

  • It is genetics aswell, but guys have surely less effect on that. People also realize hardly if you get old.

  • I mean those are intentionally bad pictures they selected for to progress through her years, kind of a dick move. I think some women age like wine, and I've fucked women in their 40's, 30's, etc, they're amazing. Jennifer Anniston can't seem to be unbangable. Other women age like milk, but, that's life.
