Legalizing prostitution is the one thing the government could do to reduce violence against women. However, the government doesn't want that. They want to make women be fearful of prostitution. They want these women to work in low wage jobs like everyone else so they can pad their numbers into good statistics.

Not going to do well as a politician when you can't explain why so many married guys are visiting the pretty ladies.
