Going in for my vasectomy tomorrow should I be nervous?

I got one in August 2019. Best decision I ever made. You will need ice, and probably several rotating ones because you need to keep it cold for about 48 hours. You typically need 10 days before resuming normal activity. For example, I usually walk my dog, but couldn't walk her for 10 days after the surgery, despite the fact that it added up to a total of 4 miles a day. You also can't masturbate or have sex for a fortnight after getting it. Then you just need two tests afterward. The first one is after 3 months or 16 ejaculations, and the next one can be done a week later. You just cum in a cup both times and take it in to be tested. The testing is fast and you can get the results in under an hour.

Getting a vasectomy at age 26 is a foolish thing to do.

I consider a vasectomy to be a permanent and non-reversible procedure because that is what it is intended to be.

How can you be sure that you won't change your mind in the future? Or that your partner won't change her mind?

There is still a chance that you can get a girl pregnant. Condoms can fail and so can vasectomies.

People treat this like it isn't a big deal but reversals are not guaranteed and like any other procedure, there is a list of things that could go wrong...

A lot of risks are involved for something that is equally as effective as wearing a condom.

I've heard that you can smell when they burn it

Only if they have reattached do they cauterize them. Most of the time they just tie them off. Plus you're under anesthesia, so you don't remember anything.

Just got it done today, they DO cauterize it and your not under anesthesia, it was a local, and yes you can smell it I will never forget the smell of burnt vas deferans ends and scrotum

Not at all. I had mine in 1988. Quick and easy. I had it on a Thursday and back to work on Monday. It takes several ejaculations until you are shooting blanks so you will take a sample in for testing to make sure after a few weeks. No judgement here, it is your choice.
