Gorgeous vs f***ing hot?

What's the the difference? My boyfriend will look at a celebrity and say she's f***ing hot. But he's never said I was hot. I only get "gorgeous". He's the first guy to take interest in me and not tell me I was hot or sexy. Says it makes you seem like an "object", yet say its fine to call other people on TV that. Explain! I want to understand.

Okay so if you were to have two girls; one who's "gorgeous" and one who's "hot" who's better looking, and whom would you prefer based solely on how you interpret these labels? Is one better than the other or is it just different things?

  • We won't call a hot girl hot because its pedestalling and we know you know you are hot although you probably have BDD or hate being objectified for your looks (people play down their strengths) and want a guy to like you for your other qualities and that you hear enough compliments from guy friends and girlfriends about your looks, we will compliment you in other ways like when you do cute expressions and how we look at you.

    Gorgeous > hot.

    gorgeous is like hot plus you have outstanding features such as really nice eyes, if a girl has positive canthal tilt thick lashes and bright eyes I will usually think of her as gorgeous.

  • It means that he respects you more. He sees you as something more than just a nice girl to look at. Take it as a compliment, because I would personally rather take "beautiful" than "hot" any day.

  • Gorgeous is unique without being cute, like hot with good character.

    Every1 has different tastes for it, mine would be Emily Didonato, her eyes and lips make it for me. positive canthal tilt and the angle of her upper lip.

    This is starting to get really shallow even for me but I would prefere the hotter hot girl because she would have better aesthetics where as the gorgous girl would have interesting features but that's not what I go for, I would rather aesthetics and a girl be photogenic over gorgeous features (eye lashes, lips, skin). (Emily Didonato is both hence a super model)

  • Well, this is just me but when I call a girl hot I'm usually talking about her from a sexual and physical point of view only. When I call a girl gorgeous it's still physical but she has more of a youthful/cute look about herself.

  • There's a clear difference in respect between terms of endearment and beauty. If a guy is calling you hot, he's not looking at you as a person but more as a collection of body parts to be used. This is called sexual objectification. When a guy extends beyond the terms of society such as "hot, sexy, etc" he means a lot more than physical attraction.

  • He probably just attaches more emotion to "gorgeous." Like it needs to appeal to his heart in some way to refer to a girl as gorgeous. Whereas "f***ing hot" is all about appealling to his penis.
