Well I wouldn't have shot up my door. If it was my place I probably would have had time to put on my kevlar and take up a good firing position with my AR15. They wouldn't have gotten away.

But yeah that's how you deal with a home invasion. Even though they were also armed, the risk wasn't worth it to them.

Haha I was just thinking pop on the IOTV, grab the ballistic shield, get comfy in the hallway... Actually I'd shoot through the door too because I can use my big rounds and not worry about hitting anything but bad guy with a gun because there's a cliff backstop instead of another apartment there. It'd be more expensive than the 5.56 he was firing but it's way more "one hitter quitter" stuff. Looked like the other guy didn't have a gun. Gives time to pick him off while he's still on the property running away after my door/his buddy explodes. The rescue kittens will be protected, no matter what the cost.

@BoopBoopBeep I just see them busting through the door armed and getting dropped. If I had another gut with me I might get him to unlock the door just to save the door. Depending on the law where you live picking him off running away is a mistake.

Not anywhere near my door they don't. That's the beauty of not living in the city. There'd be an immediate recall election (if he's lucky) of any sheriff that tried to pursue that here. Last guy that f'ed with my house I told him I'd shoot him in the face if he came within 50 feet of my then girlfriend because I knew he was armed and I considered him a threat. There were 4 cops present when I said it. They told him to stay more than 50 feet away from my girlfriend.
