Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably noticed group sex has become a hot new topic. With the launch of OK Cupid’s new feature for polyamorous dating and the app, 3nder, that links couples with singles, threesomes are no longer a don't ask, don't tell situation, but instead a modern day dating trend. The idea of getting it on with more than one person is an exciting new thrill couples are seeking out - whether it's a one-time fling or a more serious relationship.
For any couples interested in taking the leap into a group sex scenario, here are a few things to consider before stripping down:
1. MUTUAL INTEREST
Make sure you and your significant other are mutually interested in bringing a third into the bedroom. If one person in the relationship isn’t completely sold on the idea, things could get awkward fast.
2. THE THIRD
Who is the the lucky third you are adding into your night of passion? Male? Female? Stranger? Friend? Is it a one-time thing or a continued relationship? Discussing what you both want from this person ahead of time will help you choose the right person to avoid causing a rift in your relationship or friendships.
3. GROUND RULES
Make some ground rules before jumping into bed. Are you ok with your partner kissing the third? What part of the threesome excites you the most? How do you want to get started? Does the third spend the night, or should they leave? Making sure you are both on the same page will start the night off smoothly.
4. SET THE MOOD
This isn’t one of those occasions to dive right in for a quickie. Focus on setting the mood and easing into the big event. Dim the lights, turn on some music, and get comfortable. Why rush to the finale?
5. DON'T IGNORE YOUR S.O.
Sure, it may be easy to get excited about having someone new in your hookup sesh, but make sure you don’t ignore your significant other. You’re partner’s vulnerability is at an all-time high, so be sure to pay attention to their actions and emotions to make sure they are enjoying themselves.
6. PLAY IT SAFE
Adding another person into the mix increases the risk - don’t forget protection!
7. HAVE FUN!
Most importantly, the night is all about having fun. Don’t worry if the night starts off awkward or if your game is a bit off - It’s (most likely) new for everyone involved, so just relax and have a good time!
What do you think - Would you have a threesome with your partner, or would you join another couple for an adventurous night? What are your thoughts or tips for the occasion?

I'm completely down for it! I'm a straight female who believes that in a relationship, it's all about adding spice to your bedroom! A threesome is the ultimate goal in a relationship and some people are just prudes! You only live once!

I agree with you. It’s all about experimenting with different things and spicing our relationship up. If you and your significant other has a good trust level, it’s doable. My partner and I are in an open relationship and from time to time we indulge in threesomes with strangers. It’s fun, it’s exciting, every time there’s something new. A new chemistry, a new rhythm etc.

I’ve been interested in polyamory, the thing I can’t get past though is the people who are in like committed relationships with multiple people at once. I would want one committed romantic relationship for both of us and anyone else we hook up with is just meaningless sex. Is that still polyamory or just swinging?

#1 threesome rule: don't do it when you are in a relationship.

You left out a pretty important rule,
"Unless you are a polyamorous couple, don't catch feelings for the person you bring into your bed."
That may seem obvious but is is essential.
One of the reasons many of us won't participate in a threesome is because for us: sex ➡ always leads to ➡ feelings.

I don't think I'd be able to have a threesome in a relationship, but I had one with two guys who were friends of mine (and very good friends with one another) and it went great! We even talked about doing it again 😏

I would have a 3some and I would join another couple if they weren't strangers. It'd be an interesting and new experience for both of those. Especially mmf and ffm

if your all single and want a 3some... more power to you. if your in a relationship? then just admit the relationship is done and break up. Cheating together is still cheating. IT is also disgusting.

Had a mff threesome and it was fun. Me and my partner discussed it beforehand and had some rules to make everyone happy. In the end it was a fun night and both my relationship and my friendship with the woman is going strong

What do I think? Jesus fucking Christ a single male can't even hook up with one girlfriend online yet alone be invited to group sex or threesomes. Your info is good but will never happen to a single guy so it's invalid. I had this exact argument in fetlife regarding "unicorn men". Men who are free for couples and a couples fantasies with no strings. This term is usually reserved for women only because a unicorn women is a girl who is up for threesomes etc. but the argument being, why are unicorn men so hard to find? my argument being that it's not that they are out there, but like the rest of the dating game, they are rejected.
If you a single male, you will be denied access to sex parties, swingers clubs, or couples. The only way around this is to get a girl who is up for it as a couple with you. So basically you need to still go back to basics and get a constistant friends with benefits or open partner. Then once you have that, you can start playing. Single men won't get threesomes or group easy at all. He needs a wing girl. Threesomes and groups are almost exclusively controlled by couples and women. Some swingers clubs even pay for women to come so that they can charge super high prices for single men who can't get in.

@buttheadkakakak I'd enjoy it either way... A girl doing bj and vaginal sex double vaginal penetration it could be really great to see a girl move from low stimulation climax then her libido die for all the pleasure... Two girls are also great but not as intense where the penetrational pleasuring is concerns after 3orgasms the guy is done and neither of the two girls are completely satisfied, oral and clit (fingering) stimulations after that. While on the other hand when one guy rest the other can continue pounding the pussy and visa versa until she can't take no more. Two dick in her throat. Ass and vaginal penetration positions are endless things that can be done are infinite...
buttheadkakakak

@Skeye89 that was graphic but what I was getting at was that guys would like it with more girls because a three some is pretty selfish. 2 girls on one dude or 2 guys on one chick - really depends. But the majority would like 2 people on them
Skeye89

@buttheadkakakak I got you but the pleasuring how would that work out some members would be dissatisfied...
buttheadkakakak
+1 y
@Skeye89 this is why just 2 people in bed is best, because somebody is always going to be left out in a threesome
Skeye89
+1 y
@buttheadkakakak not necessarily hence its better for two guys one girl... Males are extremely homophobic to this idea though
buttheadkakakak
+1 y
@Skeye89 exactly which makes it difficult to have good threesome. Girls are jealous and guys are homophobic. It's a lot easier to nail one person

I have a small penis, so threesomes are out. Another guy would be a lot bigger than me, and two women would get bored fast with a small one.
