That's his way of expressing pleasure. Everyone has their own. Some moan, some talk, some swear, some keep quiet. It didn't mean anything patronizing or disparaging for sure :)

I have an friends with benefits who loves swearing and calling names with the same being returned to her. That's her preference and likewise this is his preference. He enjoys it most this way :) I'd say take it as a compliment :)
