Had unprotected sex with Italian man on holiday do I have hiv?

Hi , a few weeks ago I had unprotected sex on holiday with an Italian man. IM so so worried I have hiv to the point it's making me ill. I have never had a one night stand and I recently split up with my boyfriend who cheated on me. I went on holiday and I felt hurt from what my boyfriend did ended up sleeping with an Italian man I do not no. I asked him if he has hiv he said no he gives blood so they would have said if he did. I'm so so scared to the point it is making so depressed. What is the likely I got hiv I have also been clinic but waiting for my result

Calm down. The chances are you'd probably be okay.

I was in a similar situation last year. I began dating a girl who has literally slept with 34 guys in under two years. 30 of whom she used no condom.

She only disclosed her sexual escapades after we've been dating for about two weeks. You can imagine all sorts of thoughts was running in my mind. She assured me she is HIV free. That alone was not even a consolation.

The number of guys she slept with in such a short time placed me in the high risk category of HIV. The next day I did a rapid HIV, the test was negative. 6 weeks after I did another test, result negative and 12 weeks after I took another test, result negative.

Only your results can definitively confirm your HIV status.

Doubtful. Italy has a.4% incidence of HIV.

You would first have to have sex with the 1/200 men who have it. And then it is pretty unlikely you would contract it with vaginal sex. In fact the odds are 1/1200. So you have a 1/240,000 change of catching it. So breath a bit easier until your test comes in, but be more careful in the future.

The odds of having chlamydia are higher. Get tested for it - if it goes untreated it can wreck your reproductive system despite being like the common cold otherwise.

It's not likely you caught hiv, unless you were sharing needles as well.

The chances are slim for HIV. Maybe another STD like HPV, though. I would just get yourself checked out by your doctor. This way you will know for sure and not stress and worry about it. Stressing isn't good for your health, either.

Calm down, I totally understand that you are feeling scared. Great that you went out there, and got yourself tested. Are you having any symptoms of HIV? Until you recieve your results, remain positive.

It is very hard to get hiv from vaginal sex. For women it is 1 in 1250 exposures, for men it is 1 in 2500 exposures. If you had anal sex your risk jumps dramatically.
