Lube is going to make a big difference in this case. If not using it grip loosely enough that you can slide over the head. The basic motion is the obvious one. Get faster as he gets more excited. Starting slow is fine. Better to build then to start frenzied and burn out. You can - and this is definitely easier with lube - add a twist at the head. So you slide hand up, twist one direction, slide down. Twist back repeat. That adds a little extra. Beyond that you can play around with other techniques, but I'd play around more early and then settle into the rhythmic stroking. One that feels good to me is if you make a ring with your index finger and thumb wrapped roght around just under the head but touching it then rotate.
