Has any guy ever caught an std from getting their dick sucked?

I gave oral to one of my partners after testing positive vaginally for a bacterial curable std thinking it would be risk free because my doctor told me I did not have an oral std when I asked if I had it orally too (as soon as I tested positive I got treated right away that same day). However I got paranoid and started googling and realized that it was possible for me to have an oral std. So I went to a second doctor and got a throat swab and it just came back positive. I'm worried that I may have given an std orally to this partner. Side note I get tested every three months full panel and almost always use a condom. Now I'm going to add oral swabs to my tests too.

Superb Opinion

  • Many STDs are less transmissible from oral but they are still common. Just because you have an STD though doesn't automatically mean you will definitely pass it on giving oral but the chances are still high. You should tell anyone you have had sexual contact with so they can get tested and so they don't pass it on to others.

    • you said less transmissible but chances still high?

    • Yes, less transmissible than penetrative sex, yet the chance of transmitting can still be relatively high.

    • I went over the results with two doctors and one pretty much thinks he has it now.

  • Are you bisexual?
And how many partners do you have?
    It's good your using condoms
But the number of partners is a concern

    • I only have two the one im talking about in the question I just got back in touch with so before him it was just one. That one is the guy who gave me the std. No I'm straight.

    • I'd dump the guy you got back in touch with No telling how many chicks he's been with And it's possible the guy. You got back in touch with Got it from a chick, has he been tested? If not, get rid of him

    • ok so guy 1 is the guy who gave me the std. I had sex w him from early September to late November. I found out I had an std late November due to routine testing. Guy 2 I met in late July and was having sex w him until October. I know that I didn't give him an std prior bc I got tested THREE TIMES one in late August, one early October and one late November. I just got back in touch with guy 2 and just gave him oral only. I am not talking to guy 1 anymore now that I know he has an std. I AM concerned about guy 2 however bc I gave him oral before my treatment was over but only because the doctor told me I didn't have it orally. The morning after I got my shot was when I gave him oral.

  • Thankfully no.

  • Can get gonorrhea from throat.

    • I tested positive for gonorrhea both vaginally and orally. I did a pee test and got a throat swab.

  • Did you tell him?

    • I'm going to ask him that we get tested together before having sex again

    • You should tell him you may have unintentionally given him a STD. My sister told every guy she may have given HPV to after she tested positive for it.

  • I have never experienced that fortunately 😉

    • you've gotten stds but not from just oral right?

    • Never with oral. You are right lady

    • so should I not be too worried? im being very cautious and have a set plan with dates the doctor told me for when I want him to get tested and when im going to before we have sex again. but I just want some peace of mind until then.

  • Nope cause never had a bj

  • Possible but not as often for some reason, maybe because of the saliva or maybe because it’s on the outside and not like a vagina where everything is inside

    • So if I have gonorrhea in the throat and give a guy head (not knowing I had it in the throat at the time or being told by a doctor I did not have it) do you think the chances of the guy getting it is low?

    • Yeah it’s a lot lower than from intercourse, maybe ask him to get tested just in case

    • I already have a game plan a way to ask him to not get tested WITHIN the proper time frame to get an accurate result I just want to know my chances so im not losing sleep over it until then - how do you know it's a lot lower? bc they said it's low for me to get it orally and I did and it's low to get it vaginally w a condom and I did (lol)
