Why, for how long and what was it like?
the concept is blowing my mind so I’m curious lol. I can’t imagine what it’s like being locked up…. especially if they’re stuck in there for years and years. It’s very depressing.

Sort of. I didn't do hard time like Martha Stewart did. I was deported from Australia, so technically it was called a "detention center". Still had bars, cells, shit food and a bunch of scary motherfuckers that would slit your throat if provoked. Luckily I was only there for a month before my deportation back to the US and I had two mates to watch my back, a 6'4" 260lb black dude from California and a 6'2 200lb bricklayer from Limerick Ireland. I had hair down to my ass at that period in my life and I looked like a straight up biker, not the kind that only rides on the weekends with his buddies from the accounting pool. I'm not going to lie, that first night after the cell door slams shut, your head races with twisted scenarios like, which motherfucker am I going to have to try to kill tomorrow so I don't get raped? At least I had a "authentic" Aussie experience, penal colony and all!
Twice I was held in a jail cell for most of a day while I was going through a difficult divorce. I was held while waiting for my solicitor so I could be interviewed.
Not a place I would want to visit again as it wasn't intended for long term occupancy there was basically a bed with something that resembled a crash mat from PE a toilet.
They served me 1 meal in my time there which was a cottage pie and gave me a spork that only just handled the job.
I’m glad you’re out
It was just a one day thing on both cases I had done wrong mainly because I was in a bad place through the divorce and did 100 hrs of community service to finish with
I’m sorry…we all go through hard times and act out. Sadly some get caught and some get away with it. Either way I’m glad you came out of all of it including the negative 🙏🏻 here’s to better days
Nope I always wanted to travel and do any job I wanted so decided against being a criminal..
I have been in a jail before for my parents and we brought my friend Nick once to get fingerprinted lol
Only as a visitor. I did an interview with someone in prison for identity theft. He showed remorse and for me it was a good way to get to know the perpetrator side from what I warn people about.
Jesus! What was THIS for?
@KostasKouvalis What do you mean? The interview? I am a local journalist.
I never knew that

Me too it blows my mind!
Yup.. Im not fit for that
Me too
If truth be told I’ve been to jail before but not as an inmate I went on a self guided tour to a few haunted jails armed with a few cameras, recorders, emf detectors & more.
Only as a visitor with the high school class.
What was it like? So cool your school let you do that.
I mean, in Germany you have to do quite a bit to end up in prison, so it was clear these guys (a unit with young adults) weren't exactly locked up for stealing apples. The German system is strong on rehabilitation and education, but the concrete walls and steel doors will still make it feel like hard time, at least that was my impression.
I wonder what it’s like compared to the UK. I also feel like you have to do quite a bit to end up locked up here.
Nope I've been interrogated before but they never had any evidence on me lol
Lol damn be careful!
They won't ever find that evidence, I've made sure of that so no worries 🙂💯
No and I hope it stays like that
Me too.
No. I've been doing very well staying out of jail.
Nope and no plans to go there.
My dad has and some of my classmates have. The stuff about the food and racial segregation is 100% true. My dad also said they make you strip naked and give you a cavity exam and inject you with some shit. Jail isn't as rough as prison, but last time he complained about having to sit on a medal bench for 8 hours🤣 I don't know if the part about dropping the soap is true.
Oh damn
Yeah I never been in jail nor I don’t think I ever would but I know some people that have and say it the worse and stressful place to live. They say they rather die then go back to jail.
Oh that’s awful
Yes, twice. In both instances it was only overnight…. barely enough to really count but enough to make me not want to return.
Good
Twice. The first was contributing to minors when I was 19. Yup makes sense.. The other was prowling when I was 21.
Yes. Spent an entire summer there.
We rebuilt their wired network from copper to optical.
Let me tell you: getting into a prison to work is waaaaay harder than getting out.
There were points where I was considering just punching someone to finally let me in 😅
Oh gosh! Why
Because prison guards aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer and they like to play smartass even with people with valid permits.
i went to YA then fire camp for about a year in high school. It was for drug dealing, it could have been a much worse charge if i was an adult so i got lucky.
That’s lucky!
Nearly was arrested in HS but that was about it
many moons ago i was like 20
Glad you’re out
Sometimes a guy in jail can have a lady meet him for private visits if he behaves well!
Is that what you feel like right now? Trapped?
No? What are you on about now smh
I was framed for a homicide that I didn’t commit. My ex wife had faked her own death so that she could get our son for herself. She left clues that would point to me as the key suspect and a number of her wealthy friends went along with it. Needless to say, I was found guilty on the testimony of her friends and family and was sent away for 25 years. Years later, I would find out she was still alive and living in New Orleans. I spent years fighting for my innocence and got paroled after just 9 years. I used that time to find my ex wife and son and, long story short, got my conviction overturned. My ex wife and a number of her co-conspirators stood trial but avoided jail time and got probation. She had to pay me restitution totaling $1.8 million so far with another $4M to go.
So, needless to say, I have been to jail.
That sounds terrible. I can’t believe she’s be nasty enough to do that.
Man that's heavy. Sorry you lost 9 years of your life and time with your son, and that your ex and her cohorts didn't get any jail time is fucked up. I'm glad you got the conviction overturned.
Nope but I've been in a mental institution which felt like jail. We had to wear the orange uniforms and we couldn't go anywhere and had to eat yuck food.
Ironic how it’s a mental instruction but it doesn’t really feel good
Institution
Yes for 2 days... I was in a solitary cell locked down 23 hours a day. I can't even begin to describe how slow time passes. Every minute feels like an hour. And you can't really sleep because they keep the lights on and other inmates scream all night.
Please don't ever go
Yeah it sounds awful…
