You're looking for friends on an ap notorious for hookups. Plus if they are looking for more than a hookup, it's not gonna be "just friends" because they'll just whine in a week or two and say that you "friend zoned" them even if you're up front about it going nowhere.

As a guy it sucks more I personally believe because all guys get are "no response" or a dumb one liner and to make it worse, a majority of their "matches" are bots trying to get their credit card numbers. So as a guy they can't tell if the person's even real.

Don't ever try to "make friends" over a dating ap. It's a waste of time. The guy will either try to date you or hook up with you. Most of the girls I've met online are messed up as it is. They're single moms, using fake/misleading photos, are on drugs/alcoholics, or a combination of what I've mentioned.

Tinder is NOT for making friends. If you were under the impression that it was, well, now you know.

Tinder is for finding casual sex partners. Maybe not officially, but it's WIDELY understood to be that, and that's exactly how it's used by almost everyone who uses it.

If you want "just friends", stick to Facebook.

Not to be too blunt but hooking up is the point of tinder. The name refers to the bits of paper or wood fibre that catches a spark (of attraction) to start a fire (sex).

Tinder is much more hook-up oriented than POF or OKC. That being said, maybe you should stop looking for friends on a dating site? People are on there for *dates*.
