Have you ever had an experience where you were with a person at the same place and same time prior to “meeting” and never knew it? I did…

Same theater, same day, 1 row, 2 seats apart…

I met my future husband in March of 2001. Three weeks later I had my wisdom teeth removed. I had every possible side effect from dry sockets to hole in my sinus to infection to allergic reaction to the fucking antibiotic for my infection.

Despite all of this my boyfriend of 3 weeks still came to visit me, watched dirty dancing with me and brought me chicken soup. That was all he needed to do to win my mother's heart.

I failed to mention. I was told I could not suck out of a straw for 4 months without risking severe sinus complications. 18 year old me did not in fact ask my older male maxiofacial surgeon if that included blow jobs. For obvious reasons.

Anyway, he was in my childhood bedroom, looking at my bulletin board and pulled a ticket stub out of his wallet. Matchbox 20, October 22, 1997 (that was 3.5 years prior), same theater. I was in seat S2, he was in seat T4. Arms width away from each other. 3.5 years before we actually “met.”

  • Great story. I am not a big believer in fate but if there is such a thing, you certainly experienced it.
i have had a few similar experiences. I met my wife at a beach a couple of states away from where I lived. We talked for a while and I found out she lived in the next town from mine.
Our first date was a long walk along the coast and we talked about a lot of things. She said that she liked the Beach Boys and I mentioned that I saw them perform in 1990 at the local Air Force Base. It was the last time Brian Wilson toured with the band. It turns out she was at the very same concert where John Stamos was the drummer.
She told me she worked at the local cinema and I told her I had been there a few times. I went there once to see one of the Back To the Future movies. I was standing in line waiting to get popcorn. A couple of guys in front of me all of a sudden started fighting. Everyone starts pushing and shoving and the manager comes out and breaks up the fight. She was working behind the candy counter that night and remembered the fight. I may have even bought my popcorn from her.
We had many instances where we went to the same event and there is a pizza place in her hometown that my friends and I often hung out at.
The real show stopper was after we had gone out a few times she tells me she needs to tell me something. She was not smiling so I expected the worst. She tells me that she just broke up with a guy she met at school that lived across the country. She said they were planning on getting married. So I looked at her and said that I just broke up with a girl I had met at school that lived halfway across the country and we were planning on getting married as well.

    • Wowwwwww. That is obviously fate!

    • As Coulis said, souls are drawn together.

    • Sometimes when I write this out and look at it I wonder if anyone believes it. There is actually a little bit more to it.

  • That’s awesome! I realized my wife (7 years before we met) had visited the city that I live near as a tourist the same week I had gone downtown as a local and I realized we could’ve easily passed by each other and never would’ve known it. Your story is better because you were literally feet apart from each other.

    • That is a fun story too! I like what Coulis said about souls being drawn together like armies. :)

  • I haven’t , but your husband sounds like a keeper

    • Thank you hun. That is really sweet of you to say. 🥰

  • So which one of you was stalking the other? That was quite a coincidence otherwise.

    • Total coincidence lol. Was 4 years before we met.

  • You're truly blessed 🕊️ by the best ❣️
Never had that type of encounter or experience but I've met people before that I could swear I've already met (deja Vu)🥀

    • Deja vu indeed. Thank you. Sent chills up my spine tbh.

    • It does the same to me too.

  • I met a lady on POF in the spring of 2015. We talked on the phone a few times, never discussed our jobs or educational backgrounds. About a week later, we met for dinner. When I was in law school at FSU, I was a legislative intern in the House of Representatives (1984-1986). She graduated from law school three years before me and took a job working as a committee staff attorney in the House of Representatives. Her office was immediately next to my office for two years, and we knew about 100 people in common, but she and I never met. . . until almost 30 years later.

We dated for two years and we were an extremely good match, except that I wanted a serious commitment and she still wanted casual.

    • Wow. Amazing what life throws at you.

    • Yes, indeed. I regret that it didn't work with her because we were otherwise such a good match.

  • Omg you guys were meant to be!! You guys are so cute and adorable 😭❤️

    • You are so sweet 🥰🥰🥰🥰

  • No, but that's fascinating.
I'm from a town of less than 6, 000 people and grew up a complete loser and then moved away to Toronto, then Montreal, then Vancouver first chance I got. So if I ever end up with someone who actually wants me, the odds that they ever met be before will be astronomical.
Besides, I like to keep as good a distance from my past as possible so that wouldn't be great for me.

    • I am from a rather large city. But you are too hard on yourself. You know I think you are hot.

    • I easily prefer city life. Obviously, who the fuck besides my dad likes small towns? Only people who hate people. There's nothing to do. Having said that, assuming I live past 50, my ultimate goal is to one day retire to a ranch on the edge of BC. I die in the same environment I entered the world. But I live in the concrete jungle I loved otherwise. Yeah I've been told by many I'm hot. Still single. And that only started around 20. Before then it was ugly and grease for the acne. Besides my only two options are either my personality is really that fuckin' horrible or my looks are. I kinda like me so I'd rather assume the latter.

    • Ich liebe dich. Das macht mich traurig. Es tut mir leid. Enchuldigng meine drunk deutch sucks but I mean well. Give yourself more credit. Das ist alles. 🤗

  • When I was a kid I would visit my grandma in New Jersey. Next to my grandma was a farm. The granddaughter of the farmer would visit every once in a while and when our visits would overlap we would talk to each other. I never knew her name. Years later as an adult I ended up working next to her in an office in Manhattan. It took us about three months to realize we knew each other as kids.

    • Freakyyyyyy! I met s father and his daughter at a playground with my 3 year old when I was heavily pregnant. That 3 year old and my son ended up being preschool classmates. Fast forward to this year. Her little brother is on my younger son’s t-ball team and her mom is the coach. Wtf? 🤣

  • Wow im speechless!

  • That is amazing! No, I don't think that has ever hapoened. The souls are like armies. They are drawn to one another.

    • You are right. They are. 💕

  • Yes In 2019 I went to see Avengers Endgame with a friend and my other friend saw it a showing before us.

    • Cool!

    • I saw Avengers Endgame in the theater too!

  • One time I met this guy in high school when we both went to visit St. John’s College in Annapolis and then like four years later he ended up transferring from UCLA to my college

    • That’s pretty cool!

    • Ikr! So was yours.

  • That's really cool! No I've never had that.

    • Thank you :)

  • That's fuckin cool! Unfortunately nothing like that that I know of in my life lol but man. That's crazy.

    • Thanks. Lol. Real life is better than fiction 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Uhh, nope that has never happened to me

  • Yes once as far as i'm awhere
