Help!! Sexted with a minore am I being scammed or in real legal trouble?

PLEASE READ ALL.. I messaged this girl on a dating site profile said 18. I opened with hi what are you doing? She said nothing just in bed horny. I asked for her # I texted her hey then she asked for pics I said you first. She sent me a nude then I sent 1 back and she started talking dirty to me. It ended their then the next day her dad calls me telling me she's a minore. Saying he's thinking to take it to the police. I said I had no idea she was then he said would you be willing to work something out. I said like what he said I'm gonna talk to my wife then call you back. I have a feeling they're going to ask for money or threaten to call the police. What should I do? I feel like this was entrapment how was I supposed to know she was a minore! Im only 20 years old could I actually catch a sex offender charge for an honest mistake?

Also i asked for her snap first but she said doesn't have one text me. Could that be another tactic to keep sent messages as proof for leverage. Since snap messages dont save

  • Your being scammed, if they were serious the police would have been notified already. The fact that the so called dad, did not tell you her age is also a clue this is something shady.

When will you dumb bunnies stop sending nude pics, to people you just met on some site.

The thing is, you can also be in legal trouble for accepting a pic of a minor, as well as for sending a pic to the minor. But you should be good, as you answered an ad that stated her age as being. I hope you were smart enough to make a copy of her ad, before it is or was removed.

    • I did

  • Don't reply to anything further that they send you. If you are telling the truth then you had no reason to suspect her age was under 18 because you had evidence that she was 18 and she didn't contradict that at any point. This is just a scam. They will probably threaten to post your nude photo to various places or people, maybe even your contacts. Don't reply. If you give in to blackmail it will never stop. If you didn't show your face in the photo that you sent then you can always deny it was you, even if they do send it to your contacts.

    • Should I block their #

    • Yea my face wasn't in the nude just my body

  • Scam. Tell him you would like him to bring his daughter to the police station. That you have downloaded copies of the web pages and chats and that you are sure the police will straighten out the situation.

    • You aren’t in legal jeopardy. She claimed she was 18. You don’t even know this person actually exists. But go and report her for being under age to the site anyway.

    • Ok thanks i will i took screen shots of her page in case she delete it.

    • Wait until he makes the offer, whatever it is. Have him send you an email. Try to get it from him in writing. Try to make arrangements to meet him to make whatever exchange he demands. Then go to the police or report him to the fbi. There’s a page somewhere that you can report this kind of stuff. Odds are he lives nowhere near you. He will insist on gift cards or something that has cash value but doesn’t require identity. And won’t give you any personal info.

  • Yeah right, like any concerned parent would be looking to "work something out."

    • Thats what i was thinking like work it out how. The only thing I could think about is black mail asking for money

  • Don't bother bro, 99% on dating sites are bots or catfishing, even if not, who cares, go mgtow, wake up from the matrix brother...

  • Scammed.
Even if he went to the police you did nothing wrong, she mislead you about her age. So screenshot everything. Her profile, the messages, all of it.

  • This is a scam. Cease all contact and block the #.
Screenshot her profile and all of your text conversation just to be on the safe side. You had no way of suspecting the girl was under age and when you found out (which I'm sure this is a scam, but this is all just cya anyways) you had no further contact. From a legal stand point you are fine. No DA would prosecute that.

    • Yea I blocked his # and took screen shoots for proof in case of the small chance it is real. Regardless she never disclosed to me she was 15 I had no way of knowing she was a minor. The website makes you sign an agreement that your 18+ so if anything I think she would get in more trouble

  • Scammed. Just delete the texts, shut up, don't answer the phone.

Moreover, she posed as legal age under false pretenses. If the police did this, it would be "Entrapment".

  • Complete scam. Just take screenshots of everything than block all communication with the person. Nothing will happen to you.

  • I'm not gonna vote but if they ask for nudes at all, don't send any. Don't even ask for them to send any. It's honestly the smartest thing to do in all situations.

  • It's illegal for them to extort money from you in this way. If the woman in the picture is really underage (unlikely) then they may be guilty of distributing child pornography. Consult with a lawyer.

    • by the way, I an NOT a lawyer. You should talk to one.

    • I will if it actually gets that far but right now im trying not to get ahead of mysefl

    • A lawyer may advise you to take this matter to some law enforcement agency. If you are in the US and the girls is out of state then it would probably be the FBI.

  • whatever it is you should hopefully be fine if it did say 18 how was you supposed to know but whatever you do if they ask for money say no cause then it will show that your not guilty and it was a mistake and it could stop a scam also

    • I know right It's fucked up when someone gets labelled a sex offender if they were the ones being deceived! Read update ⬆️

    • Good now that's over

  • If something else happens can you add a follow up story? Sorry I just like these kinds of stories... 😊

  • It sounds like your being scammed for money
and this could most likely be a girl and her boyfriend
who are scamming you , my opinion get your number changed
or block this person from being able to contact you again
but this definitely sounds like a scam.

  • They cannot request money from you from a legal stand point. They can take you to court, however. Though it would be against their interests as 1. You were misinformed and possibly "off the hook" and two: their daughter broke the law by sharing a pic of herself whilst under legal age.

  • the idea that a 20 yr old can get into trouble for sexting a 17 year old is fkd up in my opinion

    • Agreed

  • Give up your phone for evidence you should be good long as you're not lying if you are then that's yo ass and can't wait till you get to go

  • Something "like this" occurred to me years ago. A grown woman, perhaps in her early 40's had given me her number. I had texted with her several times. One day, she texted me a sexual comment, and I responded with a reply in synch with her comment. Days later, I was talking with the woman and I brought up that texting conversation. She told me only then that she allows her 14-year-old daughter to use her phone when she wasn't using it. OMG. I told the woman, that she should have told me this b4 I had texted that sort of text. While she didn't seem to alarmed with the situation - I was. I just ended our relationship as it overall wasn't a good fit.
As with your situation, if what you have said here is fact. I would ignore the matter, leave it ( her ) completely alone. IF the Father brings it up again - I would record the conversation, or save the text. It "sounds like" your being played.

    • They knew they were caught so the next day they tried a diffrent tactic. "I have your nude if you don't call me back I'm posting them on social media" I was like bitch 😆 my face ain't even in them you don't got shit on me.

    • Yeah - again, record any conversations, or keep any text. You can sue them for this if it keeps up. However, I would and do suggest you ignore them if at all possible.

  • If you had every reason to believe she wasn’t lying about being 18 and you broke it off when you found out, then you’ll be okay.

  • Get a lawyer

  • I've met girls who presented themselves as over the age of consent who turned out to be 15 or 16, so I know how you feel. If you don't do anything to or with them that's meant to bring sexual gratification, then you have nothing to worry about. Texting a young girl is not a crime.

  • Scam. Tell him to fuck off. Lots of these aresholes out there. For future ref... never ever show ur face in nudes. Keep the messages and her profile details as u believed rightly she was 18. Fuck them... just ignore them. And just for info its spelt MINOR.

    • Yea I don't show my face in nudes and i took screen shoots of her profile just in case

    • Then ur grand dont worry

    • He texted back asking for money 😂 I blocked his # gtfo

  • That's an obvious scam. Relax, even if it's not.. The odds still goes to your favour. A simple question of why is she even signed up in a dating site where everyone knows it's 18+ only. So relax and send a middle finger pic to her.

    • He texted me saying he'll call the police if I don't call him back. Should I call him out on his b. s or ignore

    • Call out the BS and then ignore... Don't be afraid because that how scammers scam. They take advantage of people's fears.

    • Thanks I looked it up on Google it appears the same scam been happening a lot of plenty of fish. It's almost scripted

  • God thats a scary ass scam.. but I bet that shit works lolol

    • Yea it caught me off guard lol I was like oh fuck... Then he hung up and I was able to put all the clues toghter. I'm sure they get a lot of people because they panic. asking for money should be a dead give away that's black mail.
