All this because he says its health issues
He has teeth problems, lost 4 teet

In November his mom passed away

Sucks. I am very convinced he is telling the truth though. When going through rough periods in life I can have my libido go from 100 down to 0 in a heartbeat and remain there.

Best thing you can do assuming you want to fix things? Fix them. Guys are simple. Concrete actual progress towards things being better and a little conversation about how cool ducks are (or whatever he fancies) might be enough. But even if it isn't, doubt it hurts.

You sound great. Look if it isn't worth it for you, cut your losses. Don't fall for the sunk cost bait. If it is worth it, I mean help him the way a guy would. Not mental, emotional or even physical support. Help him tackle the problem. Start somewhere and cause tangible sustained change. While it is generalizing, us guys are normally solution-oriented.
