How Come People Make It Seems Like Sex is SO Important & How Come They Talk About it So Often?

There's sex talk everywhere. On here definitely, which is one thing, I expect it on here, and some of my friends talk about it  all the time . I have 2 in particular that every time I'm with them, they get into a long conversation, or I should say speech because I only listen, about sex in some way, shape, or form. Why do people talk about it so much? It's not my cup of tea to have conversations about sex always so often.

They're horny. It's tempting to think that we're cerebral beings, who are creatures of intellect and logic. And indeed we are, but we're also animals, and driven by animalistic appetites as well as "higher" ones.

This is why, in the age of nuclear weapons, we still look upon those who are different from us with fear and revulsion. Science says "all men are your cousins", religion says "all men are your brothers", instinct says "those people over there are different, and that's terrible- kill them all!". It's not all bad, though. I've read about a case where a squad of soldiers in Iraq was up for receiving a medal, and they all refused to take it unless their bomb-defusing robot got one, too (the brass, not being stupid, gave the robot a medal). They'd come to see it as part of the team, thanks to that same old instinct- "He who sheds his blood with me this day shall be my brother", as Shakespeare said. It bodes well for the supposed robot apocalypse, I think.

This is the sort of thing you can do if you want to talk about something else: take the conversation about sex and still it into a subject that interests you more: in this case, the interaction of human instincts and robotics. Practice it, and soon you'll be having more interesting conversations.

Yes, I agree sex talk is overrated, I would tell your Friends that they make you uncomfortable when they talk about sex all the time, People do it cause they just don't care whether it affects you or not but I care about people and how I talk I like to respect others wishes.

Sex is a hot topic. Seriously though, people talk about it a lot because it is has always been viewed as a topic not to be discussed openly. But I disagree. People should talk about it openly and comfortably and then maybe there won't be so many sexual deviants out in the world cause harm to other people and to children.
