As technology and civilization has gone to replace the physical and intellectual ability that used to ensure a survival edge with adherence to whatever caste system you are part of for your social structure. Therefore, no matter your genetic ability, if you have what is now considered valuable to a society (money, power, influence, ect) you shall continue to survive and prosper. This is why in many nations, the United States chiefly among them considering the 1/3rd obesity rate with the average American adult, we are starting to see a decline in our genetic progress. Which is why some believe genetic traits that were nearly eradicated by evolution (such as peanut allergies, cancer, ect) are beginning to show up again. So I would argue that Darwin's theory no longer applies to humans.
