I had dealt with migraines a lot. Here are a few things that helped. Do you get migraines all the time (like every few days, or every few weeks?). I found several things that were triggering my migraines- 1. Poor posture, 2. certain foods, and 3. my period.
I went to my doctor and she prescribed me a pill that I take everyday to prevent migraines. It helps. If I feel like I am going to get one ( you will know because you will start to experience symptoms like aura, flashing lights in your vision, excessive tiredness, neck pain etc) she recommended I take another. It has stopped them.
I also avoid foods that are known to cause migraines (they are different for each person). I find caffeine, artificial sugar, message (this is a preservative often found in Chinese takeaway), alcohol, chocolate, etc.
I have also found that my period can bring on a migraine. But studies have shown that taking a magnesium supplement can help. So I do this too, along with a multivitamin.
Lastly, poor posture (due to sitting at a desk etc) can cause neck pain and migraines. I now do 10 minutes of yoga exercises in the morning to improve my posture, and I go to a physio who work on my neck, shoulders and back.
I went from having a migraine almost every other day, to only once or twice a year. it was hard work, but so worth it!2 0 0 0I think @poppykate had a similar experience to me. I got the best result when I changed my diet and took up yoga to help me relax.
I have migraines accompanied by nausea with no apparent cause. The doctor prescribed me propranolol daily to help stave them off and sumatriptan to make them go away once they actually occur.
It’s helped a lot in my case, but everyone’s different. I’d recommend talking to your doc about it if it’s a reoccurring problem.1 0 0 0

Squeeze the web part of your hand that is between your thumb

helped me to get rid of my headaches in the past.1 0 0 0These are pressure points that will help relieve headaches.
Pressure Point LI-4 (Hegu) Figure 1. Finding the space between your left thumb and index finger Figure 1. Finding the space between your left thumb and index finger Pressure point LI-4, also called Hegu, is located between the base of your thumb and index finger. Doing acupressure on this point to relieve pain and headaches. Using your right thumb and index finger, find the space on your left hand between the base of your left thumb and index finger (see Figure 1). Press down on this point for 5 minutes. Move your thumb in a circle while applying pressure. Be firm, but don’t press so hard that it hurts. Repeat the process on your right hand. You can do acupressure several times a day, or as often as needed for your symptoms to go away.
You need to figure out if it's nerve or muscle stress, diet maybe both. You might need glasses. I don't get them. Other questions, are you over weight? Any spinal problems?
1 1 0 0Apparently I have a slight scoliosis but nothing serious, not overweight. It's probably an unfortunate mix of stress, sleep deprivation, and dehydration
Yeah, drink teas that relax the body at about 7pm, and maybe start buying electrolytes for your water to drink threw the day.

1 0 0 1Curing a migraine is not the same as a headache. Migraines can be much more painful then your run of the mill headache. I'm like to know if anyone can actually get a migraine to go away, and tell me what causes them.
1 0 0 0Can you describe your headaches, and where it feels like they are happening at? How often you get them, how long they last, how long you've been getting them for, etc?
1 0 0 0Sleeping it away. XD and water
1 0 0 0A hot bath and dunking you head in the water does wonders for me. Sure you can use a hot hand towel but warm water like that is the best
1 0 0 0I guess it is just how fast it goes away before you drown.
@Daniela1982 I dunk my head in and stay under as long as I can. It feels great on my head
What kind of head are you talking about that feels so good?
