It depends, were you friends before it started? Are you friends now? or did you just meet someone online or somewhere else and started having sex?

If I am/was friends with them first or became friends with them during, we talk about life, work, family or whatever.

If it is just someone I met randomly, I don't give a shit about any of that.

However when it came to friends with benefits's, there is the actual "friends" part in there, otherwise I would call him a fuck buddy, not a friend.

I had very few fuck buddies, lots of hook ups, but a few friends with benefits's. My most recent one, we'd meet at a designated location and sometimes we'd just talk, never did anything. Like if I wasn't feeling well or something, we'd just talk or go to dinner.

Other times, we'd catch up as we hadn't seen each other for awhile and then go somewhere, get a room or go to his place.

I never considered those more than friends with benefits's, because that is what was agreed upon, they were never actual relationships and if one of us started a real relationship, the arrangement would end and we would still stay friends, sometimes it could start back up again, if we were both single.

Tell them this. I don't think sex only orientated relationships are healthy for me. friends with benefits can be fine. You can have a deep and meaningful friendship with someone and still fuck and play together. That sounds like a good friends with benefits connection to have, to be close and enjoy company but still enjoy sex and just being really intimate friends. Given it' what both people agreed to. It's a dynamic that works for some people. I don't know why other people wanna argue that and say what a friends with benefits should or shouldn't be in the comments. A friends with benefits setting can be what you want. Just be upfront and honest with each other and be safe. Go to dinner, dancing, bowling, movies, a bar, Arcade, etc. If he is also your friend he will value quality time that isn't exclusively sex-related. However, maybe he isn't aware or is looking for something different to you. Definitely talk to them.
