How does one not make cuddling sexual?

I mean, someone's rump is going to get humped. And holding hands or looking into each other's eyes is one of the more intimate actions. It feels like a lot of good tension

Cuddling, ass or hips against the guy, boobs touched some, does lend toward sexual thoughts. However, the issue so much depend on the individuals. Just as you can hug a girl, and have her boobs up against you as you hug her, you don't have to focus on the body, but on the hug. Though more difficult in some way, to a degree, this can be done with hugging as well Just as I could sleep over night in the same bed with a girl I like, and not touch her, if my purpose and focus were elsewhere.

Don't put yourself in intimate situations with platonic acquaintances. I wouldn't be cuddling with anyone who isn't attractive to me and available to me.

That's a good point, having boundaries, which is why I can't picture how people who are in a relationship can cuddle with others who they are not romantically involved with unless they have no boundaries themselves.

I mean, I’ve never cuddled with anyone before, but would more of a side-to-side kinda thing work? Like if you’re sitting together and just kinda lean into each other?

I do the side to side more than the spooning and it's one of the more intimate positions because your eyes match and even if your arms are around the other person you can still interlock hands. From there, you can touch foreheads. And then to prevent your knees from bumping you can wrap your legs around theirs and hook their feet. I'll admit your leaning into each other suggestion is a cute way around it.

Yes, people hug but let me remind you, 3 second rule. Cuddling has a sense of intimacy that is fulfilled when you sandwich some else's body into yourself or vice versa. The question, in other words, is how does one make it platonic?
