  • In the beginning of my relationship with my current partner, that was a must. We always used condoms even though I am on birth control as well. I have been on birth control since young not for the purpose of controlling pregnancy but because my periods were so bad. This helps regulate.

Now, after we were very serious (he is now my husband) and we both had a sexual health checkup, we stopped using them, and I stayed on birth control. I will be going off it later this year as we try to get pregnant and start a family.

Condoms are effective if used properly. The problem is you want to be careful that they are not old or stored improperly. That can lead to problems. If you are using them with a new partner, best to get new ones so you know for sure that they are maximum efficient.

If everything is perfect, they are effective. I always had a backup to be safe. I just felt more secure that way because we were not married and I was not ready to start a family. No harm in being overly cautious when it comes to pregnancy.

    • Thanks for your detailed comment! Hoping condoms work for me and my partner too. Fingers crossed

    • You’re welcome! 👍

    • Thank you for the MHO 🙂

  • Don't trust what you read on here, do some proper research! Although I will give my opinion anyway... At 23 you should have been better educated on birth control, condoms are pretty guaranteed to stop pregnancy and STDs. We have used the birth control pill and also condoms when I was using the pill and didn't get pregnant.

    • Thanks sis, will do more research

    • Thanks for the MHO and good luck with your research. Also... have a fun and safe sex life!

  • Don’t use one 🤷🏻‍♂️….. 🎉.

  • Incredibly effective - we've been using condoms for years and no kids (knock on wood). Condoms are universally known to help prevent unwanted pregnancies, and the spread of STIs. Please use condoms.

    • Thanks for ur input

  • Well it's a statistical probability that they eventually fail usually due to human error of some kind. Pregnancy is a natural result of sex so if both are fertile a mistake leads to Pregnancy.

  • I don't have a ton of experience, but have used condoms every time I've had sex and never had a pregnancy scare.

  • I don't know about this topic but i might need to start to know about it and everything

    • LOL. I think many of your answers are a farce.

  • I prefer to have a condom they help prevent STDs and a good source of birth control.

  • Never had to use a condom but just a couple times. My wife was my first sexual partner, and she was already on the pill after her baby with her ex. She was divorced for about 6 months when we married.

  • It’s worked
