How long does it actually take to get a girl pregnant?

My girlfriend and I are going to have sex without a condom for the first time, and we’re honestly at a point where we care a little bit about holding off on having a kid, but if it happens, it won’t be the end of the world for us.   • Women have cycles, around 28 days. Some a bit longer, some a bit shorter. The first day of their period is day 1, then a couple of days of bleeding and then around day 12-14 they ovulate. Only during these days she can get pregnant if you have unprotected sex. Then it either works or it doesn’t. No period at the 28th means pregnant or period means you can try again in two weeks.

    Healthy couples can still take up to a year to get pregnant and if you don’t have sex during the ovulation window you can forget it for that month. All depends of course on the quality of your sperm and her eggs.
