The alpha beta concept has been disproved quite a few times. Humans do not have a social hierarchy like that of wolves. We don't function in terms of alphas and betas. Even the original study that was based off observations of wolf packs was proven wrong and has been retracted.

  @RandomGuy1030 read up about David Mech and his research on Wolf Ecology and Behaviour. He published the original paper about alpha beta heirarchy in wolves but in 1999 he made the correction and retracted his original thesis.

And if it helps you feel confident then that's great, good for you. Everyone has believes or opinions of themselves that help them feel good about themselves. I have my own set of those and I'm content with that. My original answer just stating that there's been studies in both animal ecology and social sciences to show that the alpha beta theory isn't a grounded theory.
