What is wrong with living in the moment and considering that none of us know what tomorrow will bring? There are people who you will lose from your life even when you get on well with them and commit no errors simply because we all have our own lives to lead and sometimes that means we go in different directions. Sometimes relationships only last a short time, you fall in love and everything seems wonderful and then it fades away, this is perfectly normal and natural and has the potential for good life experiences, if you close yourself off from this possibility then you will miss out on it, but yes there is risk involved and you will be protecting yourself from that risk by waiting. If there was one way of doing this which always worked for everyone all the time that is simply what everyone would be doing. The reason different people do different things and give different advise is because there isn't one right answer for everyone that works all the time.

Some will not wait 3 months but that’s a good thing. It lets you weed out the users. If a guy isn’t willing to wait 3 months (or whatever your time frame is to feel ready) then he isn’t really into you. He’s putting his own pleasure above your comfort level. That selfishness will manifest itself in other ways in the relationship as well. Hard pass on those guys.
