  • I personally do not like tan lines and I do whatever it takes to avoid them. That means, I will wear long sleeve tops and trousers and a hat. I will also apply sufficient suntan lotion to avoid getting tanned.

I am a person with a skin type II which burns easily and leaving uncovered would get me more of a sunburn than a tan.

Furthermore, how would you even see tan lines if you don't expose your skin on purpose. Does that mean that people that display tan lines are the ones that are perhaps a little more exhibitionists than regular people? Difficult to answer.

Thus, I do not find tan lines attractive as to me, it shows that those people that do have tan lines are more likely to show more skin than is absolutely necessary. Also, for those people with fair skin (skin types I to III), it is not so much a tan line than burnt bodies. The exposure to UVA and UVB has been prolonged beyond what is healthy or recommended by dermatologists.

As for those people with skin types IV to VII, they are less likely to have tan lines since their natural skin is tendentially much darker.

  • I am indifferent about them. Mostly because I do not really get them. Being darker skinned than others, I do not really tan. So, it is not much of a concern for me. It isn't good for your skin to tan anyhow, so it should be avoided.

Those that have them means they likely have been overexposed from lots of time in the sun. I usually (if going to the beach) have a big floppy hat and sit under an umbrella to avoid exposure as much as possible.

Only when I walk around or go into the water am I exposed to the sun. I would think the paler the person is, the more pronounced their tan lines would get. Also, it is the people with the lightest skin tone that should be avoiding exposure in the sun.

As far as if they are attractive? No one will really see them considering where the unexposed areas would be.

  • Yeah, they can be attractive. Sometimes it's just hot to see the contrast between tanned and non-tanned areas. It's also hot because you're getting to see areas of her body that are normally covered up in public. In the context of a relationship, there's an intimacy and added excitement to that. With that said, a girl doesn't need to be tanned or have tan lines to be attractive.

  • Super hot. I find it sexy to see a bikini bottom tan line on a woman. Not a crazy bronze tan, it can be subtle. I just like how it looks. I think women like seeing them on guys too…. on a college group vacation at the beach I wore a speedo and 2 of the girls really wanted to see my tan line , they thought it was cool
