Have a queen bed, so it takes 3 to spread across the bed and I always grab one and need two others to roll around on. Firm Martha Steward pillows from Macy's have been my upgrade from ancient Egyptian-era ones that I should've disposed with years ago.
Remember dead skin, dust mites and oils build up despite washing your pillow. You need to throw them out after they sag on either side of a hand holding one up in the dead center.

One pillow which I've named as "Dirtypillow", it has been with me even before i was born. The second is a mini little pink starfish, the size of my palm that I keep close. And lastly i have my Luffy plushie. It's big and cuddly.

and then I have third "body pillow" size that goes between my knees, and I canNOT sleep without that one, lol...
if I don't have it... my back starts bothering me and I can never relax and get comfy, lol
Three. It used to be two, one for my head and one for my side, but an abdominal injury means I often need to flip over on to my other side at least once, so now it's one for each side.
